Creative ideas and what I've tried so far has turned out great. Would love to visit the bakery someday. Only one teeny, tiny complaint--the print is so light, it's difficult to read. Maybe I just need new glasses.
This is a great book to have in your pantry if you're not an experienced baker, it has a bunch of basic recipes and helpful tips. I really appreciate that the author went out of her way to give detailed instructions, she answered to me a lot of questions on why I never get some baking recipes right. The introductory section on equipment, techniques, ingredients and tips is VERY helpful, so are the "baker's bite" notes. Ever since I got this book I feel like a more accomplished home baker. So far I've made scones of different flavors, macaroons, lemon raspberry cake and my most successful banana bread so far. I only have two small complaints: 1. For such a long book, it has very few pictures, and since a lot of recipes are quite complex, I think it should have been way better illustrated (I would've even sacrifice a few recipes for more photographs); 2. Some recipes have huge proportions (20 macaroons is good enough for a bake sale but way too much for my household), although since most quantities have their equivalency in grams they are not completely impossible to half.
Too all interested. beaware... The type size is too small to read easily, if you wear glasses you might rethink the purchase until renewing for a stronger pair. The book itself is nice addition to my bakers library.
I just recieved this book last week and haven't made anything yet but wow! Everything sounds so yummy and there are lots of recipes. The only down side (and it's a small one) is that there are very few pictures. I'm a baker who likes the see a picture with recipes. It's still a really great book either way.
