Dopo aver seguito un corso sulla didattica del pensiero computazionale, ho incominciato a valutare con quale sistema avrei potuto esercitarmi tra mBot, Ozobot e Microbit, quando mi sono imbatutto in questo Rover.
Il fatto che nel complesso avesse un prezzo più abbordabile e utilizzasse Microbit come piattaforma, mi ha convinto a tentare l'acquisto.
Il rover è dotato di sensori propri di luminosità, di distanza e di inseguimento linea (credo che siano IR), che vengono resi disponibili con la programmazione a blocchi su microbit.org tramite un'apposita aggiunta che rimanda al sito del produttore.
Raccomando di scaricare dal loro sito il pacchetto di programmi, istruzioni e tutorial che permette di testare il rover e anche di rendersi conto se c'è qualche difetto.
Rispetto ad mBot, la programmazione del sensore di inseguimento linea o del sensore di distanza, è più semplice anche se la logica è la stessa.
È possibile scaricare un'applicazione sullo smartphone per controllare il robot come con un telecomando, ma onestamente non mi sembra l'uso migliore che se ne possa fare.
Una volta presa dimestichezza con questo sistema, non c'è molto di differente da mBlock o Ozobot rispetto allo scopo di insegnare/imparare il "pensiero computazionale".

PRO:
- prezzo
- funzioni (riconoscimento linea, buzzer, sensore luminosità, sensore prossimità)
- sufficiente modularità (il sensore di prossimità è staccabile come la scheda microbit)
- discreta espandibilità del rover
- ecosistema Microbit
- graduale nella complessità del codice
- ricchezza di istruzioni e manuali

CONTRO:
- non adatto quanto qualche concorrente ai bambini sotto i 10 anni
