Book Description

75 slow cooker and instant pot freezer meals made from whole food ingredients by the founders of Thriving Home blog. --This text refers to the paperback edition.

About the Author

Polly Conner and Rachel Tiemeyer are the founders of Thriving Home (thrivinghomeblog.com), which they began in 2012 as a way to encourage other parents by sharing tips, anecdotes, and healthy recipes from their own homes. Thriving Home has risen to the top as a leader in the online freezer cooking space, and these time-strapped busy moms of three (each!) refer to themselves as "freezer meal evangelists." They are the authors of From Freezer to Table (Rodale, 2016). They live with their families in Columbia, Missouri. --This text refers to the paperback edition.

Every single recipe has 'make fresh', 'freezer option', instant pot AND, my favorite, slow cooker instructions. Made from real whole foods (I didn't find a single reference to cream of fill-in-the-blank soup), that are available in small town US.
Then, the recipes are even sorted and labeled for dietary differences, or those that really will cook all day, or make a ton. Lots of great tips, that are actually useful, including what to consider when purchasing a slow cooker or instant pot. Pictures with almost all recipes.
The instructions are really well-written, telling the user when to put the ingredients in the freezer, or what else is going to be needed when they're ready to cook. Also some serving/side dish suggestions. Shortcuts and Kid-friendly Suggestions make it perfect for busy parents.
The only negative is that it's not spiral-bound.

Carnitas were an instant hit with both families we had for dinner last week (ages 2 1/2-12 kids) and I may have eaten them everyday for 3 days straight!

Love how they have instructions on when to stop the directions for freezing. Having instant pot directions for so many recipes in one spot is a lifesaver when the meat never thaws in time in the fridge!
And they have which recipes are gluten, dairy free, vegetarian, kid friendly, feeds a crowd, a an index in the back!!!!
The only improvement would be a few more gluten free and dairy free substitutions or how to add even more veggies for the recipes that aren’t already free or full of veggies. So glad they wrote this cookbook.
