Very strong adhesive. Make sure when you attach that there is a slight slack for the mechanism to work.
I am very impressed with the product being all in one piece and no seperate lock and key. Have ordered more. Would like to be able to purchase white.

I absolutely love this product! As a mother of 4 kids who can't seem to stay out of the refrigerator, this is a life saver! I can sleep at night knowing that my kids who are well fed I might add, aren't in the refrigerator / freezer @ 2am trying to eat / drink everything. It was easy to install out of the package and came with clear instructions on how to set the lock to your own code. The dials are easy to move and it's easy to reset the code if needed. The only thing I don't like is if it's unlocked the code is visible until you place the cable in and can move the dials.

Design flaw

The device has a major flaw in it's design. The first one I got broke right away, they replaced it so the seller was great. But the replacement broke as well after the exchange period

The flaw is in the pin that locks into the base. It is a thin metal rod that has a narrow part near the end, and then a it gets wider, kind if like a little ball. the ball is what locks into the base, however the thin metal strip before it is weak. If someone applies enough force, and it's not alot, it will snap. Both broke this way which was due to my 4 year old daughter trying to open the fridge. She isn't that strong obviously so it didn't take much to break it. Both units broke in the same way for the same reason.

The rest of the device is great, the concept is great. If this issue was fixed it would be the best lock of it's kind on the market.

There are a lot of child locks out there, made out of plastic, and requiring only a simple, easily learned action to disable. I guess this might work for a lot of kids, but when you have a serious mischief-maker in your house, who also seems to desire access to all the most dangerous things, something more is needed. This fills that need.

Effective lock, with a flaw in security.

The lock and sticky pads work great, the fridge door isn’t going to come open without some force or ingenuity.

That being said there’s a significant flaw, in that the combo can’t be scrambled while the cable is out of the lock housing. Being installed in a fire house the oncoming and offgoing shifts can look at the combo while it’s still unlocked. This compromises the security of our beloved food and beverage. For now we’ll change the combination from time to time. Maybe I got a defective lock and the seller can ship another one out.
