Another great book by Jeanne ! I’m very familiar with Dorothy and Alan , her very patient and loving husband from the first of these wonderful tales. This book had lots of mystery I tried very hard to figure out. As usual I could not . You’ll love the characters and of course their 4 legged friends. A great yarn you are sure to enjoy as I did.
The sixteenth Dorothy Martin mystery finds Dorothy investigating some deadly doings at the local college. With one body already discovered at the bottom of a lift shaft at the college, can Dorothy along with, husband and retired Chief Constable, Alan get to the bottom of the mystery and prevent any further deaths? With a likeable protagonist in Dorothy and a colourful cast of supporting characters, this is a gentle and nicely written mystery. This one, as with others in this long running series, provides some ideal and very relaxing escapism.
The characters are too well crafted, the story ways so well thought out. The writing so continually good and inviting you to read just one more chapter _____ so I read it in one go!!And boy am I going to be tired tomorrow!! You are just too good at writing these things Jeanne M Dams! Thank you may it continue!!!
This book is a great read. There are the usual characters of her stories along with some new ones for this particular story. There is a murder to begin with which no one can fathom out how it was done. Then there are lots of red herrings thrown in to make you consider other possible culprits. Of course it turns out to be a person who is covered by various alibis which are eventually found out when they assume that all bases have been covered. A truly enjoyable hook.
I have read and enjoyed all of the Dorothy Martin books but, for me, this is her best so far. There were so many fascinating twists and turns in it and you couldn’t tell, until the very end, how things would turn out. A very good read!
