Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing, a new edition of this masterpiece with completely new graphics and a 30x30cm insert full of vintage posters and lobby cards. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is neither more nor less than the perfect soundtrack to the most wonderful of western movies, the third and final act of the "Dollar Trilogy" directed by Sergio Leone. A film not only rated among the best of the genre, but universally considered among the most successful in the history of cinema. Ennio Morricone, a higher caliber composer to whom each musician usually relates with the simple title of 'Master', has here been able to be as meticulous as his friend director, composing a soundtrack that fits brilliantly to the bombastic and epic atmospheres of the film.

My advice; if you enjoy watching 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' as well as listening to the film score; buy this original soundtrack CD album as it also includes many previously unreleased tracks which includes the actual film version (with cannon fire) of the famous theme and alternative versions of some of the music used in the film.
As it is so good and is my new favourite album; I give it a 5 star rating.
Morricone uses a series of odd rhythms, instruments and wordless vocals to provide a musical backdrop to this new type of horse opera. It's innovative, and best of all the score can be listened to in complete isolation from the film with total enjoyment.
This release is pretty good, with several bits of music not included in the original release. These really add to the album. The sound is very good. There is a booklet with memorable pictures of Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef taken from the climactic showdown. All in all a decent release of the greatest film soundtrack ever.
