I got this Grandstream HT802 today and was a little surprised that it comes in a plain white box with zero documentation.
The documentation is on the Grandstream site, under support, look for HT802
Really quick exec summary:
1) Plug a phone into port 1 of the TA (I only had an old analogue phone in the place I was setting it up, so this felt a little surreal)
2) Plug it into your LAN and turn it on, it will get an IP address by DHCP
3) Find the IP address by picking up the phone, dialing *** and waiting for the voice prompt, then typing 02
4) Browse to the IP address, admin/admin
Firmware updates are at on the support->firmware part of Grandstream's site - The one I got was on an older version, the latest is 1.0.10.6 (at time of writing) so it needed an upgrade. That's in the Advanced option. The firmware update takes ages... Have some tea. I had to try a couple of times but it updated properly on the second time around.
If you use voip.ms (which a lot of Canadians probably do for voip!) then there's some documentation for setting up the Grandstream_HandyTone_502_-_HT502 on their configuration help site. Even if you don't use voip.ms, this is really useful.
I had problems with the dialing plan that voip.ms suggested and the default isn't that good:
I eventually ended up with:
{*xx. | [459]11 | 10[1-9] | 011[2-9]x. | <=1>[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx+ | <=1902>xxxxxxx+ | 1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx | <111=19021234567> | <222=16049991234> | <333=19023334444>}
This will:
1) Allow anything starting with *
2) Allow 411, 511 and 911
3) Allow 101, 102, 103 etc for voip.ms internal extensions
4) Allow international calling
5) This one is a compromise, it allows all 10 digit numbers to be dialed without a 1 in front (so all US/Canada numbers) - But this doesn't allow you to use a 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx
6) This allows 7 digit numbers from my area code (902) to be dialed without the 902 in front
7-9) These are short codes for numbers I use a lot, so 111 will dial 19021234567, 222 will dial 16049991234, and 333 will dial 19023334444
You can add "^1900x. | ^1976x. |" before the *xx. if you want to block 900 and 976 numbers.
For now, it's working! The quality seems good and I am happy with it for now. I am sure I will update if anything horrible goes wrong.

7. Im Reiter FXS PORT1 (bzw. FXS PORT2) folgende Einstellungen vornehmen:
Primary SIP Server: IP-Adresse Ihres Routers.
SIP User ID: Der im ersten Schritt angelegte SIP-Benutzername.
Authenticate ID: Wie SIP User ID (der im ersten Schritt angelegte SIP-Benutzername).
Authenticate Password: Das im ersten Schritt angelegte SIP-Passwort.

Loses a star for lack of intuitiveness.
When you first try to establish a connection to a SIP server, you may get an error saying that the system is offline and that it is attempting to download a file from a server. The reason you get this error (I discovered after a long bout of troubleshooting) is because the GS-HT802 is unable to download the firmware updates from the server and doesn't appear to ever time out (as of the firmware at the time of this review).
Make sure to update the firmware manually and turn off automatic firmware check on startup.
