Here's 2 Andrews Sisters 60's albums from the Dot label. If you have their original Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy from the 40's and play the version included here, even purists will have to admit that 20 years later they could more than belt it out, even the really tricky parts. The songs that made them famous often had very unique harmonies, sometimes the girls backtracked a few bars and then would continue where they left off. The three did this again in perfect precision with a solid band backing. It's a good thing CDs don't wear out because at least a dozen tracks I've played over and over. Yes, I wore headphones so I wouldn't drive everybody crazy. Let's hear it for Sepia who've gotten into the Dot vaults! Hey I know this stuff isn't free but they do the right thing putting 2 albums on a CD for a reasonable price. That was the original idea when CDs came to be 35 years ago and classic albums could double up, only not every label did that.
This is indeed a great CD. I came across it by accident while browsing and as soon as I saw that "Billy Vaughn" was the conductor on "The Andrews Sisters' Greatest Hits In Stereo" I knew I must have it in my collection. I was not disappointed! It is really a wonderful CD. I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes music from this era.
