Gratz presents this historical fiction in a gripping way. I have long been a fan of his novels, but this one, after experiencing this event as an 11th grader was very emotional. As an American, this is a book that is necessary and important. It’s a must read!
This was an excellent story and provides the reader with the opportunity to view two sides of the situation. I was both surprised and pleased with the book and think it should be read by all of our pre-teen/teens. Well done!
I haven't even finished this book and I'm praising it. It's a quick read, but that's because it's so hard to put down. When 9/11 happened, I was the same age as the little boy. It's so surreal. It was hard to think about how a child in Afghanistan was during this time. Such a good book. Really pulls at my emotions.
This is a really good book. It really moved me and made me think about how lucky i am. It is sad but taught me a lot of stuff about 9/11. I reccomend this book to anyone and everyone. Thank you Alan Gratz for writing such a powerful book. Stay safe everyone! (ps. I am 12 years old) (:
