Intriguing premise and interesting characters. The first half of the book was a bit slow, but the second half is compulsive reading. The Australian setting wasn't really convincing, with unfamiliar British and American terminology sprinkled throughout (e.g. Kirby grips, herringbone parking, rube) distracting. A good read, but not in the league of Chris Hammer, Jane Harper or Gary Disher.
