I have owned the previous version of this book (Hip Pocket Guide HTML 4.01) Hip Pocket Guide To HTML 4.01 for some years and it was the most useful web info book that I owned.
This is an update to that previous edition.
There are some minor editing issues with the Kindle edition, in-particular with the CSS section and the layout of sub-sections and headings. In addition, there are numerous spelling mistakes - one ironically in the Global Attributes spellcheck section - "...Indicates that the element is to have its spelling and grammar cheked." :)
Web standards are a moving target when writing books, and HTML has changed significantly since 4.01. This book covers the changes up to version 5.1 - current for 2017.
Otherwise, it is as clear and concise as the previous edition with each element category in it's own section with all the options and an example of usage. As a Kindle edition, it has the benefit of search, something the previous paper books did not have.
I would recommend this for the beginner to intermediate web developer. Though everything can be searched online, the advantage of a book is that it can be browsed; there is a good chance, that you will either find something new or long forgotten which may solve a recent problem.
