*Positive points:* Decent light mystery fiction, engaging characters. *Negative points:* Too many jarring Americanisms, including British characters calling their mothers "Mommy", and a Princess whom people address as "Princess", while where her title of Princess comes from in the first place is never explained. It's very much an American fantasy version of England and the English aristocracy, untainted by minor things like research or accuracy; this is very aggravating.
This is a brilliant delightful series. All the books were too good. I enjoyed reading each one of them. Holly Holmes and Princess Alice are the most adorable characters and their friendship is so awesome. Lady Phillippa and her eccentric dressing sense with her psychic abilities add thrill to the story. I found Campbell's encounter with Holly very funny and amusing. An awesome must read series.
This was a fun, light-hearted read that at times definitely became a page-turner. There were some slow moments but the characters are lovable and the setting is nice. My only complaint is it’s written with a British style but the author doesn’t seem to have done too much research beforehand as some British elements are wrong or don’t seem to make much sense. If you don’t look too far into anything though, this series makes for a really enjoyable read!
