Update: A couple of weeks later, placed side by side with my (popular and well reviewed but unfortunately now discontinued) Ikea Vaxer Grow light I can say this one doesn't seem to be nearly as effective in comparison. Absolute brightness wise this one seems similar however the lack of a focusing lens over the LED's means that the light is distributed much more broadly and thus doesn't at a distance of about 2-3 feet the plants don't seem to benefit nearly as much as they do from the much more beam focused Ikea globe. Alas, the color is pleasant enough and the globe a nice compact size so I'm going ot leave it installed for now and see how the plants are looking with some more time.
This grow light has a nice gentle light and a pale warmth to the colour temperature - however it has no focusing lenses on the LED's and every LED appears to be the same colour (most other grow lights I've seen produce their "white" colour with a blend of LED's.
No word on whether or not this will prevent it from being effective as a grow light, but for my use case it's only supplementary light for living room plants so the aesthetic appeal of the bulb is as important as the spectral coverage.
Also worth noting; the product Box and design is the exact same as the "Flameer" model of this same light also listed here on Amazon AU. I ordered both as the Flameer burnt out within seconds of being plugged in, So be prepared for some quality control issues with these.
