I enjoyed this book, I couldn't put it down, there were enough twists and turns to keep me on my seat. I received a fre copy of this book sothat I could give an honest review and found it well worth reading.
Lady Emmeline Hyatt had been accepted by the most prestigious ballet academy in Paris. Her mother, the Duchess of Bedford, was very excited about her daughter’s acceptance – but it had been her own dream, as she had attended the Paris Opera Ballet School in her youth -- yet Lady Emmeline had her own dreams. Her mother’s constant urging to become a dancer was becoming tedious.
Lady Emmeline Hyatt’s first Season had finally arrived in her search for a suitable husband. Two very dissimilar men caught her attention, both handsome but with very different personalities. Lord Benedict, the eldest son of the Duke of Marlborough, was shy yet infatuated with the lovely lady. Mr. Charles Skeffington was outgoing, bolder, and outrageously flirtatious – and also quite excellent on the dance floor. The mutual interest apparently pushed the two men to engage in an altercation, witnessed by Lady Emmeline. She was unaware that although both men would like to win her favors, only one cares about the lady herself, while the other fancies her dowry. Which man will Lady Emmeline choose -- Mr. Charles Skeffington or the shy Lord Benedict?
I enjoyed this book and the various characters described. I felt bad for Lady Emmeline whose mother never stopped trying to live her own dream through her daughter, even though Lady Emmeline did not share her passion for that type of dance. She never stopped pushing at her daughter to do things the way she wanted them done, which would be very annoying. Grab your copy of this book and see how Lady Emmeline navigates her own choices. Will she make the right one? Or will she have to suffer the consequences of a mistake in judgment?
