5.0 out of 5 starsGood Buy
Reviewed in Australia on 27 July 2019
I have four of these controllers three on fermenting fridges and one as rotational spare. For the price, these controllers are an excellent buy. The instructions can be a bit daunting at first. Just play around with it for a bit and you will see what it can do or just plug it in and set the temperature you require then connect the fridge to it. It will then cycle the fridge keeping to the temperature you have set. If you need a temperature controller for a fermenting fridge or lagering fridge this is the one I would recommend.

1.0 out of 5 starsRETURNING FOR REFUND
Reviewed in Australia on 23 November 2020
Purchased around mid November 2020 for fixing a florist fridge with a broken thermostat.

Worked well with regular cutting out a 4C and cutting in at 6C, and I initially put in 5 stars.

On or about 11 February 2021, I notice the fridge was running at 9.5C and slowly rising.

On investigation I found ice on top of the water, it has gone below zero, A DISASTER FOR FLOWERS ESPECIALLY ON VALENTINES DAY WEEK.

MANY FLOWERS DEAD, so I have reduced star rating to 1, as I cant't put in ZERO.

Removed the Inkbird and the fridge now runs properly, but without cutting out, which now has to be done manually.

I HAVE RETURNED IT FOR A REFUND !!!

Amazon are handling the refund efficiently & promptly with no hassles.

3.0 out of 5 stars Buy the wifi version

Seller was good, delivery was good.

However I recommend you buy the Wifi version and not this one, I made the mistake of purchasing this one by accident and this product doesn’t connect to the inkbird app which is fairly disappointing for me.

Temperature control works it’s just annoying changing settings without the app as it can be tedious cycling through settings to make changes and if you don’t go all way through to end and pause too long it drops all the changes you made and you have to start again. also there is no way to remotely monitor since it doesn’t connect to the inkbird app like the wifi version does.

1.0 out of 5 stars Failed after only 2 months of use.

I bought this to control the temperature of my home bar. I had the refrigeration plugged into the Cooling outlet on the device. After a couple of months of use the low temp alarm kept going off to warn me that freezing temperatures had been reached. I reset it a couple of times which seemed to work, but eventually realised that regardless of temperature the device was keeping the refrigeration unit running, even when the device was indicating a heating unit (when connected) should be on. Looked online and found many similar cases for this unit.

1.0 out of 5 stars Failed after 2 months.

Unit is starting to fail, one month past the 30 day return period.

Temp will rise up & kick on the chiller, the. Immediately cut out & kick on the heater, has worked fine up until now - is struggling to maintain 26°C on an aquarium with appropriately sized heater & chiller.

Have removed from tank, as the constant cycling is not good for the chiller compressor.

2.0 out of 5 stars In general it is good, but the relays got stuck after 1 year of usage

It does the job well, but after 1 year, the relays are constantly getting stuck. When it switches from cooling to heating my freezer still keeps running. The controller is still sending power to the cooling outlet.

This was being used for temperate control for home brew. I worked great for 12 months right up until the heat side stayed on when it should have been off and gave me a 50 degree fermentation completely destroying a brew

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well but sockets are about 20mm too short for power plugs to fully go into.
Reviewed in Australia on 31 August 2019

It works fine but I can't insert the power plug all the way into the sockets on the unit. No matter how hard I push there is a gap of about 20mm. This makes it slightly dangerous to use, but I use it nonetheless - with care. Delivery was super quick.

2.0 out of 5 stars Worked fine for a while then started going out of calibration
Reviewed in Australia on 31 July 2020
This worked fine for a while and then started top slip on the calibration. It's now 14c out of calibration and I ended up freezing a batch of beer I was fermenting because of it.
