Look at what just came out alive from an ozone session!! I’ve been using this machine for almost 6 months to sanitize my produce. I trusted this machine to kill pathogens but I now feel so upset that it’s probably not doing anything... it had little ozone smell at the beginning but now I can’t feel anything, just bubbles of air come out of it.. either this thing stopped working or it has never really worked as it was supposed to. I wish I could have my money back.
This replaced a 12 year old ozone generator that was much more expensive. The value, features, ease of use and price for this ozone generator is outstanding and better than my previous machine. I use this ozone generator to rinse and clean all of my fresh fruits, vegetables and produce. I also use it to refresh the air inside and eliminate odors. I have never had a problem in 12 years with getting sick from eating contaminated produce or residual pesticides. It works in sanitizing and removal of surface pesticides. It also makes the fruits and vegetables last longer. Very pleased with purchase.
I have been trying a few months to get an aqueous ozone generator. Any product mentioning ozone on Amazon is not allowed to ship to CA. The same on eBay. I got two machines directly from China and they never arrived.
I have no idea why. I stumbled on this machine, I clicked buy and the order got through and I got it the next day. I was extremely surprised. Perhaps it's a US/Canadian company who bothered to deal with the CA regulations.
But anyway, I wouldn't use this and any machine indoors unless in a sealed room or with a strong exhaust fan. Most of the ozone coming out from the bubbles won't be dissolved immediately but go straight into the air.
I already prepared for some tests if I ever get a machine. First, I can smell the characteristics ozone odor that is the same from the professional ozone generators in the hardware stores in CA, which are regulated. Not that I want to smell it, but I cannot run away fast enough always after turning on the machines.
I wanted to do the iodide test to compare the oxidization power with hydrogen peroxide that I wanted to replace. Iodide will be oxidized by dissolved ozone to iodine which turns from clear to pale yellow. In the presence of starch, the solution will turn deep purple.
I got a small bottle of potassium iodide crystals which is medicine. The first problem, you cannot add iodide and starch to ozonated water. The reaction isn't one way. I have to add iodide and starch to water first and then bubble the ozone through. The starch will turn purple as soon as iodine is formed, which is irreversible.
The 2nd problem, the chlorine in tap water already oxidizes the iodide. So I have to use purified water; I have a reverse osmosis system for drinking water.
I added roughly 1/16 teaspoon of potassium iodide crystal to a quarter-liter of water. The amount of starch is roughly half a teaspoon. The water turns deep purple in a minute with the ozone generator, just like 3% hydrogen peroxide, and even 1% hydrogen peroxide.
I tried to estimate the concentration of ozone in the water. But it is complicated. First, by displacing water in an upside-down container, I estimated the gas flow to be 1.5 Liter per min. With the rated 600 mg/hr, the gas concentration can be maintained at 6.6 mg/L (or ppm). The dissolved ozone concentration is a fraction of the gas. It is 0.2 at room temperature and 6.5 at freezing. So you get 1.3 ppm from tap water or 4.3 ppm using icy water.
The interesting fact is that, once the highest concentration is reached, which is pretty fast in minutes, you cannot increase the concentration no matter how long you leave the machine on. You need to turn on the machine for longer if you have more water to ozonize. Also, the half-life of ozone is air is some 30 minutes and shorter in water. This is not expected to affect the maximum concentration significantly because of the slow decay.
For disinfection, over 1 ppm is sufficient. For sterilization, it's like 3 ppm for 3 to 10 minutes. So this machine is sufficient for sterilization, using icy water if necessary. I won't use it on my skin just as that I won't use hydrogen peroxide on my skin regularly (other than first-aid), not even diluting from 3% to 1% or below. It's corrosive, unlike alcohol.
It's ideally for everything else. Say carpets, after an hour or two there's low risk with skin contact. And after a few hours, only pure water left. Unlike hydrogen peroxide, you have to wait until the carpet is completely dry to be sure. There is no need to rinse, no harmful residue, just water. The electricity to generate ozone is virtually free compared to other disinfectants. Totally fragrance-free too.
This little gadget does amazing things with the large volume of stinky laundry that my five sons generate...things that no chemical or natural product has previously been able to do. It “magically” makes the stink just disappear and the clothing smells like it was hung out to dry on the laundry line in bright sunshine!
I fill the washing machine (top load) with water, detergent, and clothes, then immerse the end of the tube into the water and set the timer for 20-30 minutes. I close the lid on the tube, leave the room, and come back to start the washer when the ozone has done its work. Then I run the laundry through its normal cycle and throw in the dryer as usual.
No more stink!!! Truly amazing!
I got the recommendation for this product from a friend because I didn’t know how to get my kid’s clean clothes to actually smell clean (or even just to not stink...with five boys, my apparel standards are not so high), and have recommended it to several other people; one of whom has successfully used it to remove cigarette odors from a room.
Get this product, and once you experience how well it works (and with no consumable products you have to continually replace) you will find other places to use it.
I remember when a unit maybe less effective as this one was 400$ if your following the bob beck protocol which you probably should be even if your well , you will need an ozone generator that can treat a glass of water I use quart jars myself this is that generator .When I swish and hold the ozonated water this thing produces I feel it sterilizes my mouth and cleans my teeth my tongue is now pink and healthy looking it clears my head and I could feel pathogens and parasites melting away all the way to my feet .I was trying to sprout broccoli seeds and they kept rotting so I ozonated them while soaking and that fixed the problem .
So happy with this purchase. It has changed my health, the health of my plants and the overall energy of my home. Highly recommend, especially for anyone who is drinking water from anything but a natural spring. You do not know where your water comes from; NEVER trust packaging. It is just marketing.
Im a college student and these ozone generators rock. After a night of cramming a cup is the ultimate breath of fresh air. This unit was less expensive then an a2z and decided to try it out. It's smaller, quieter, and with a longer hose. I didnt notice much ozone in the water though. A tip for everyone... I take a box that fits my water mug (5" on each side), cut the top like a flap, and ozonegate my water in there. I also put the box in a white trash bag and pull it tight around the hose. Ozone stanky.... dont use a sealed cup cause itll burn the motor out. GREAT FOR DETOXING AFTER CLEANSES.
I use this to ozonate tap water for drinking and to sterilize my fruit. I no longer have to purchase expensive bottled water or concern myself over ph balanced water. This machine will make my water more than healthy. Ozonated water nourishes every cell in your body and you need about 4 ounces a day but I drink it all day! With the Covid-19 virus going around I was concerned about fresh berries and fruits and veggies like lettuce which are hand picked. You can soak them just a few minutes in ozonated water to sterilize them and feel safe eating them!
