Having just bought the bigger JBL Boombox and being so impressed, I picked up the Charge 4 for something more portable as well.

I’ll keep it short.

This is the BEST Bluetooth speaker you can get that charges from a USB port. It’s LOUD, had good bass/energy and the build quality is second to none.

Ich denke Funktionalität und Tonqualität stehen nicht unbedingt in Kontrast, beim Charge 4 scheint der Fokus aber vor allem auf Ersterem zu liegen.
Von der Klangqualität hatte ich mir mehr erhofft. Der Sound wirkt auf mich etwas verwaschen und undifferenziert. Dass man im Gegensatz zum Charge 3 nur auf Mono statt Stereo setzt ist sehr Schade. Ich wusste schon gar nicht mehr wie das klingt, sogar mein Smartphone hat mittlerweile Stereo und auch wenn man bei solch kleinen Lautsprecherabständen nicht eindeutig links und rechts unterschieden kann finde ich subjektiv dass es den Raum klanglich besser "ausleuchtet". Immerhin kann man 2x Charge 4 Geräte, falls vorhanden, im Stereomodus miteinander verbinden. Aber wer stellt sich schon zwei davon in denselben Raum? Für 2x180€=360 € gibts dann eindeutig überlegene Alternativen.
Im Gegensatz dazu ist er einfach praktisch und zum mitnehmen gedacht. Ins Bad, nach draußen und auf Partys.
Per Bluetooth verbindet er sich schnell, stabil und auch beim nächsten Mal zuverlässig. Einmal eingerichtet reicht ein kurzer Druck auf den On/Off Schalter im vorbeigehen. Sofort ist er an und auch schon mit dem Handy verbunden. Das ist Klasse!
Durch die Wasserdichtheit kann man ihn schnell zum Duschen mit ins Bad nehmen, zum Training oder zum Grillen draußen und auf Partys. Durch die zu erwartende weite Verbreitung wie beim Charge 4 macht das Connect+ Feature dann auch praktisch Sinn. Ein zwei Andere werden wohl auch ein Gerät mit Connect+ haben und schon steht in jedem Raum eine Box und es wird Laut.

TIPP: Beim Ein- und ausschalten ertönt ansonsten ein relativ lautes Geräusch um zu zeigen dass der Charge 4 einsatzbereit ist, was man aber auch anhand der beleuchteten Tasten sehen kann. Diese akustischen Rückmeldungen kann man mittels JBL Connect App auch ausschalten. Einfach herunterladen, per Bluetooth verbinden und in den Einstellungen den entsprechenden Schieber verwenden. Danach braucht man die App nicht mehr, da sich der Lautsprecher die Einstellung merkt.

Its a good speaker with a deep and punchy bass....those bass radiators really please both your eyes and ears....
Great battery life, really helpful as a power bank and yes water resistance is really cool....
Remember guys you are paying such huge amount for all these things and not just great music....
Its a great speaker for people who go to trips off and on with friends....they would find it really cool.....
However if music is your only priority and u just want an indoor speaker just for yourself, its up to you whether u wanna spend this much money as you wont be utilising its other features....

Wir haben den Charge 4 gekauft, da ein Freund den Charge 3 besitzt und wir von diesem total überzeugt waren. Der Charge 4 kann ja dann nur besser sein, oder? Nein leider nicht. Der Ton ist weniger voll/satt. Wir haben dann versucht mit verschiedenen Equalizer-Einstellungen mehr aus dem Lautsprecher rauszuholen. Leider hat auch das nicht überzeugt.
Ein weiterer Nachteil ist, dass zwar ein Kabel, aber kein Stecker für die Steckdose dabei ist, um das Gerät aufzuladen. Da der Preis des Charge 4 dazu noch deutlich höher ist als der Preis vom Charge 3, haben wir dieses Gerät zurückgeschickt und uns den Charge 3 bestellt. Mit diesem sind wir nun sehr zufrieden.
