Don't buy it. I followed instruction and box is open lock is stuck in open mode. Can not even push tab from slot A to B it's named up. They sent me a video on how to pick the lock. Aww it's opened and I can't lock it. They also offered a new lock pay and wait for it. No I needed it that day.. bought a different brand vaultz good quality works great.
OK first, it is what it is. It's a box that locks. Having said that here's what I like / dislike: Like: It feels very well made, it is not light, but not too heavy either, but definitely sturdy. Not something one can just easily smash to get inside. The lock mechanism is easy to understand and change if needed. Finally, it has a plastic drawer inside for small items, which can easily be removed if you need to use the full space for larger items.
Dislike: It feels secure but not for someone who know what he's doing. The lock mechanism feels very basic - good for everyday purposes but probably not for something extremely important and high-stakes. It's also easy for someone to just steal as is - It cannot be attached somewhere like safe boxes. Finally, the space could be somewhat larger for my taste.
I bought three of theses- one for each of my 8 year old grandchildren. The were constantly stealing each others' pokemon cards! My solution was to give them a lock box. In theory it was a great idea. The combination was easy to customize but you need a fair amount of dexterity to do so. it has a try inside as well which depending on the use could come in handy. However, after having to change the combination about 3 times because, well, kids were involved after all, the lock mechanisms gave out. For the price paid, it isn't a bad purchase. I would not recommend if you are looking for true security- perhaps it would be better as a deterrent to keep children away from sharp scissors or to keep track of things like stamps that tend to disappear readily in a household. For the price paid, I didn't expect too much so I am not dissatisfied
My hubby has cancer. He is on a plethora of narcotic pain medications as well as some other controlled substances (rx). With a teenager in the house, one can never be too cautious. This lock box is the perfect size for 2 xxl pill bottles, 10 regular sized bottles, and a handful of important documents. We threw away the money tray, as it took up a lot of space and served no purpose for us. This lock box isn't a fortress. If a person was determined to get it open, they could definitely do so, but not without some effort, and evidence of their actions. This suits our need perfectly. Well worth the price for some piece of mind. 🙂
Broke after one week...literally does not lock and cannot be reset. I had extenuating circumstances that took priority and distracted me from returning this item and now it’s too late so I’m stuck with it. Complete waste of money.
Feels like something someone could easily break into, but either way if they wanted to steal the contents they would take the whole box anyways. I for some reason thought this was the model with the individual spots for bills and coins- it is not. So it’s a little smaller and I like to separate my money so since it doesn’t have slots I have to first separate it with envelops or rubber bands or something. Not sure yet.
The box locked on it's own without me putting a lock code on it. I had to get it open then with a hammer and screwdriver. I tried using my code it would not open. I had the code written down so I know for sure a 100% that I was using the right code and it still would not open.
