Madison Kate is a new adult/college age dark romance with enemies to lovers/hate to love themes. This is a reverse harem series, meaning the leading lady has several love interests and she doesn't have to choose between them for her happily ever after. If this isn't your cup of tea, then this isn't the series for you. ♥
KATE is book 4 of 4 in the MADISON KATE series. The blurb below may contain spoilers for previous books, and I urge you not to read it until you've finished HATE, LIAR and FAKE.

“I never miss.”
Riot Night changed my life.
Coming back to Shadow Grove turned it on its head.
I’ve been hunted, stabbed, stalked, tormented, and used. Hate fueled me, lies tore me apart, and in the end everything I thought I knew turned out to be fake.
Except… Riot Night also brought Archer, Kody, and Steele back into my life. No matter how much I’ve fought it, hated it, been lied to or discovered the deceptions—I want them in my life.
No one owns me.
No one is taking them away.
This is my life, dammit, and these guys are mine to keep.
If a war is what it takes, then a war is what they'll get.

About the author

Tate James is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy and sometimes dabbles in Romantic Suspense. She was born and raised in the Land of the Long White Cloud (New Zealand) but now lives in Australia with her husband, babies and furbaby.
She is a lover of books, red wine, cats and coffee and is most definitely not a morning person. She is a bit too sarcastic and swears too much for polite society and definitely tells too many dirty jokes.

The final book in the Madison Kate series exceeds expectations and wraps up the series in a beautiful little bow at the same time as teasing and preparing us for another series we can't wait to get our hungry little hands on.
It was an absolutely fantastic experience reading KATE and was definitely worth the wait, the tears, the almost broken reading devices and definitely worth the dreaded cliffs in HATE, LIAR, and FAKE.
And what’s with the ending f**k talk about cliffhanger now I want to read 7th Circle
A Big Thumbs Up 👍

Regardless of anything you read in any other reviews, just know that at the foundations of it all is a love story so sweet your teeth will ache. You become so invested in the characters that you will be jumping up and down at the end of every book, right up until the end, to know what the fates have install for them. By fates....I mean Tate MFing James!
I have read books before where characters have died, been revealed as villains etc and have felt absolutely nothing and got barely an eyebrow twitch. I screamed at my kindle during this series more times than I can count! And that, to me, is the sign of a good book.
Also, I would like to take the time to mention that the ending is in no way a cliffhanger. Its a little golden nugget to do with Hades and the 7th circle series. Its a nice touch, seemlessly integrating what will be Tates new series but also building the world and characters of Shadow Grove. A whole series could be written about MKs childhood and her parents stories alone! The universe of Shadow Grove is massive and for me, the ending just connected some of the dots and made the story feel more real. I usually hate spin offs but slowly learning more about the potential charaters in 7th circle has warmed me up enough that I can't wait!
So...moving on! The differences between the characters and their relationships in this book compared to book 1 is the biggest testamont for me to the development in this series. I felt guine emotions of pride, sadness and love for these guys and how far they had come together! As people have said all along, each book has its own theme; Hate, Fake, Liar and finally, Kate. So you can guess that this book very much centers on her and her growth, her hangups from the pain she has endured and the healing she starts to experience thanks to her friends and lovers. Will she get the answers and justice she deserves? MK is ready to end this maddness and live a life with her boys in peace but the danger has never been more real or more terrifying. She has grown and learned some very hard lessons but all she is interested in now is surviing this madness and coming out the other end alive.
Obvioulsy at the end of Fake, we were left reeling over the fate of Max but I wont leave a single crumb about his outcome in this review. Just know that Tate does what needs to be done to be true to this series and the story.
A lot is revealed in Kate; A LOT of secrets and twists come to light, as is the way with most series that centers on a mystery. Its a twisted tale with ripples from the past infecting MKs present and it only gets darker!
We get a lot of "AH HA", "OMG" and, "Well, I didnt see that coming" moments that finally complete the puzzle of Shadow Grove. There were also some brilliantly funny, touching and heart warming moments as well that were the icing on this big, beautiful, sexy cake.

Steele has been shot and the rest are fighting to save his life. Chapter one is from Steele’s point of view this time. In previous revies I think I’ve forgotten to mention that MK seems to be suffering from memory loss or has blocked some parts of her memories as Steele too knows MK from when she was eleven, before her mother died. They spent time together. I’m really interested to see where this leads and if they manage to unlock her vaulted memories.
MK’s memories were not unlocked, however, that doesn’t take away from this story.
With Mk’s stalker still at large and the assassins all but knocking at the door, the boys step up their training of MK with gym sessions and trips to the shooting range.
MK, Kody and Archer have arranged MK and Archers ‘wedding’ a somewhat elaborate plot to draw out both the stalker and assassins.
There are loads of spicy scenes in this book and FINALLY we get the four-way we’ve been hankering for.
We see less of Bree is this installment as she is still laid in hospital after the horrific car crash from the last book.
Cass features in this book, not as heavily as previous instalments but I have a serious soft spot for Grumpy Cat.
MK and Archer go ahead with the wedding and it all goes to plan… of sorts. But the siren call of money is too much for one Reaper and he does Arch and MK dirty in the worst possible way.
We find out more about MK’s family and WHY there is a contract out for her death/capture.
The stalker, near the end of the book, who seriously steps up his game and is revealed to MK for who he truly is. Can she deal with such a revelation? Because as a reader I was bit, okay I was hugely surprised when we discovered who they really were!
But we love a HEA and this series delivers!
4 Stars

In this book Kate is such a kick ass that I didn't know I could love her more but oh I do and the guys they rock. Kate has had such a roller coaster ride since everything that happened with her father and it was hard. The stalker is still coming at her and the guys hard and now with the hit out on her it is terrifying not knowing who is going to get hurt. Archer, Max and Kodiak made a promise to protect her and they all will with their dying breath.
This book rocks and I love the way that this author writes and her style really pulls me in fully and once I started reading this series I couldn't put it down. There are so many twists and turns and the author will keep you on the edge of your seat with a nail biting wait, but you will love it. I went through so many emotions and at times oh my heart ached so hard for the four of them. This book is a fantastic and it has it all, the twists, the shockers, the angst, the steamy scenes, the drama and all the secrets are just wow and these four were hot with so much chemistry and these four have it all there so beautiful that you wont be able to take your eyes of of them all. I cant wait to read Hades. WOW!!!

MK's growth throughout the entire series was wonderful to read. She went from a rich girl oblivious to her surroundings made to feel useless, unworthy and unloved, to a cherished, protected, deserving confident young woman. A hectic year of trauma and mayhem will harden anyone.
However, as MK grew so did the leading men. Archer became endearingly soft. It was in the way he spoke to her from harshness to tenderness. Max Steele and Kody were always the gentle ones with her. They pushed for Archer's 'wake up call'. But the stronger they become the more disasters befall them. It became overwhelming but brought intrigue and disaster which made you enjoy the end HEA so much more.
The stalker ended quite twisty and unexpected. He's been there all this time.
I love that she used South Africa as I am one but why are we always villains? The megalomaniac Kruger was straight out of an action movie and I knew who would turncoats. Greed.
The writing, plotting, and execution were spot on. Kept me reading. The unpredictability twist made for an unputdownable series.
Now off to read Hades...

But of course it doesn’t really work out this way and almost nothing goes to plan.
A lot goes down in this book! Many many fights scenes, near-death situations, plenty of smut, suspense, gore, and drama drama drama!
There were a few “WTF are you doing?!” moments, especially considering they constantly talk about watching each others’ backs, being aware of their surroundings, and being wary/suspicious of everyone.
It was fast-paced, action-packed, entertaining, and full of steam.
I NEVER would’ve guessed who her stalker was! Have you read this series? Did you guess any of it?
Just one more thing….WHO IS HADES??? I need to know.
