This is my third review of KabelDirekt gear now and I'm starting to sound like a fanboy but the fact of the matter is that they are good cables and they look nice too. I have a high end soundcard in my PC. I'm not a PC gamer, I just wanted it to put out audiophile quality 24-96 HD music which it does via digital optical cable. I always used a decent cable for this but this soundcard in particular had the mini toslink socket. An adapter was provided and it worked so I never thought to look into improving upon it. The adapter was crappy though, a wobbly plastic affair but it fitted and worked. When I saw this I had to have it Toslink on one end and mini Toslink on the other! It's gunmetal/gold finish matches my other KabelDirekt cables, which means I'm gonna have to swap out some others too at some point. The best test I could give this was some high def 24k music and some DTS surround sound and it has not been lacking in any way.
We were using the old auxillary cable even though we upgraded the home theatre system so I was curious to see if any of the audiofiles would notice any difference when i swapped the cables out, an to my surprise (albeit only during things we ha experienced before to know the difference) peopke could tell!. The length is decent too. Unless you live in a cupboard, 1 - 1.5 metres just dont have the reach. This is my second optical and as sensitive as the cable is, it is better that the standard set up if you have a decent system.
