About the author

Tate James is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy and sometimes dabbles in Romantic Suspense. She was born and raised in the Land of the Long White Cloud (New Zealand) but now lives in Australia with her husband, babies and furbaby.
She is a lover of books, red wine, cats and coffee and is most definitely not a morning person. She is a bit too sarcastic and swears too much for polite society and definitely tells too many dirty jokes.

I don't want to give any spoilers, so on a generic note I will point out what I found that helped make this so wonderfully immersive:
-Loved the concept behind the existence of magic in our world, the magical lore and the sheer diversity of magical beings.
-The relationship building was natural and made sense, not just for Kit with her men, but the way that group of alphas interacted, her friendship with her bestie and her complex family.
-The action scenes, from chases to fights to epic battles, were so well written and fast paced, they were easy to visualise.
-The romance was hot, hot, hot!
-I loved the touches of humour, Kit's romance with coffee and cheese as well as the darker aspects to the story, and then the more emotionally wrenching, tissue grabbing scenes. So much 'right in the feels'.
Thank you another great series !!!

The main character is Christina (“Kit”) Davenport, a master thief, currently being hunted by every major police force and every private force. When she is finally found by the Omega group – Cole, Vali, Austin, Caleb, River and Wesley- she discovers that she is a magical creature and has the powers to heal herself and others through physical contact. We encounter a few villains, all from Kit’s past and we follow her adventures as the story is told in different third person voices. All the six Omega men and Kit get a chance to see and tell us about their story and we learn of their individual magical abilities as the characters do.
I found the characters well developed and well thought out. I felt that they evolved with their abilities and knowledge very realistically and their motivations stayed strong and never seemed unbelievable. Kit herself was a little exhausting, she is self-centered, impulsive, shallow and we are told about her love for coffee way too many times. But, despite her nature, I didn’t dislike her and I was rooting for her and her team.
The plot was imaginative and creative and it pushed me through the books at a very fast pace. As I read the whole series in one, I didn’t have to wait for the next instalment following the cliffhanger endings but I imagine it would have been frustrating if you’d needed to wait. The series had a lot of magic, action, intrigue, mystery, romance and sex and some of the scenes had me on the edge of my seat.
The writing itself isn’t great and although there is a lot in the books not to believe (like all the supernatural stuff) I found myself feeling uncomfortable with the fact that Kit’s only way to recharge her power was to have sex. This seemed so ridiculous to me but I could not stop myself from reading. At all. With average writing and a stupid plot, I was still sucked right in. I just enjoyed it for what it was.
I agree with others in that the first two books and the last one were the best, the middle got a bit ‘meh’ but, even so, this series gets 5 stars from me and I will be checking out more of Tate James’ work.

Totally recommend this series!!!
