To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This is a total failure buy on my part. I didn't understand the concept of "Tiny In One " and bought this monitor thinking it would work with my Dell PC. Wrong. It didn't work, no matter what cables I tried. And I tried many of them. I googled and googled, and then contacted Lenovo to find out what I should do. Lenovo decided the monitor I had received was faulty and sent me another one. Received that one, but no improvement. Same problem. I don't think it was faulty at all. I think it simply doesn't work with a regular PC, despite what one use wrote on a site I found. I bought $75 worth of cables to try and all failed. I have two useless monitors now.
The specs on this page are unclear about what kind of HDMI cable is required to connect my existing Lenovo ThinkPad laptop to the monitor. Turns out that an HDMI to HDMI cable won't work. The monitor has a DisplayPort HDMI port, so a DisplayPort to HDMI cable is required. You should order this accessory when you order this monitor if you intend to connect a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop that has HDMI output.
Note that this comment applies only to using the monitor with a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop that has HDMI output. If you intend to connect another brand of laptop, or an older ThinkPad that has a different output, I suggest calling Lenovo support to determine what cable you need.
Yesterday I wrote a one-star rating and then proceeded to write a review. I still maintain the one-star rating but I have something to add. Many people can't seem to get the camera and mic to work when they only purchase this monitor. That was my problem with yesterday's review. I now have the answer. Not only do you have to purchase a DP to HDMI cable with an adaptor to view the screen (assuming you don't have a DP plug in your computer) you also need to purchase a USB Type-A to Type B cable to plug into the monitor than your computer. Then go to the program button, click on it, then click on the camera icon then bingo the camera works. I am keeping the one-star rating because Lenovo Tech Support did not offer this solution. In fact, they couldn't tell me how to hook up the monitor to my Acer computer in the first place, and they wouldn't accept a return because they only accept returns if the item is purchased through the Lenovo web site. I am a Techno dope but with the help of some blogs, I got the monitor and camera and mic working.
I'm about to return this thing. It has a DisplayPort output and all I want to know if what sort of converter is needed to plug the monitor into a standard HDMI input on a laptop. I've been searching Lenov's site and forums and there is NO clarity on this. CAN what I'm describing happen with this display? If so, is there an adapter here on Amazon that works? This one doesn't work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015OW3P1O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
We purchased this monitor to connect to our own laptop. It took several different cords before we could get it to connect to the laptop. The website and customer service will say it is an all in one unit and not used for connecting to another unit. However, we did figure it out with a lot of frustration and perseverance.
So while this CAN be used as a traditional monitor, don't. Only takes DisplayPort, no HDMI, which isn't a deal breaker, but I could never get the webcam working. "Camera not detected" 0xA00F4244. Manuals aren't helpful and it's too expensive to be missing the webcam. Speakers and image are really great tho, so I'm not rushing to return it.
This product is a piece of trash. I was under the impression that when I received it, it would work like a regular computer, nothing extra needed. That wasn't the case, even after I bought a desktop in hopes that it would work, IT STILL DIDN'T WORK. This is a scam and I would not recommend this to anyone EVER
This monitor does not come with the audio/visual adapters or cords. Instructions are not clear. No reference as to which cord to purchase. The support center is worthless and clueless. I would NOT recommend this product
