Product description
Weighing just 133 grams, the Ledlenser H3.2 is the lightest model in the H series. Thanks to low weight and the ability to adjust the light angle via the 75° swivel rotation of the lamp head, this headlamp is gentle on the neck muscles.
Configured to maximise run-time on full power, it also lights for up to an incredible 60 hours on low power. The light beam intensity can be continuously dimmed using the lever on the battery box down to 5 lumens and thus adapted to every situation. Supplied with 3 AAA batteries (1.5V), this light will also operate via 3 AAA NiMH (1.2V) rechargeable batteries (not supplied). The H3.2 headlamp keeps hands free for those vital jobs where you need to use both hands.

In the heading it says, "Test-it" pack, and behind the sticker saying "Test it" there is a button to switch the light on, this seems way over the top when a hole in the packing above the lamp housing might allow you to do this. Because of this "Test it" button it also means the button has to be wired in to the battery pack, simple enough until you come to remove the wires. As you'll see in the below image, one wire is connected to a small circuit board, which was placed between the battery and spring. Remove the battery and this pops out. The second wire however disappears in to the housing, as though it might be attached to the power output lever. There are ample instructions included but sadly no mention of how to remove this, so I called the distributer who said to give it a firm pull, and everything would be OK. Which it was!
I started by saying, "A Quality product" and on the front of the packaging it says, "German Engineering & Design"...So I thought it might actually be made in Germany, but sadly not. It's made in China under strict guidelines, but Ledlenser have so much faith in their product, you get a 7 year warranty! Incredible for any headlamp or product for that matter but one that costs £18.99 at the time of my review, I think it's out standing. On top of that, you get two sets of Duracell AAA batteries which will keep you going for a while...
I really can't fault this headlamp, it comes well packaged, it's light and has plenty of power and for the money with a 7 Year Warranty included, I'll believe you'll be hard pushed to find anything better even at twice the price!

Lives up to the normal ledlenser quality. Very simple to use, no unnecessary “flashes in 5 different ways” stupidity, just a simple focus lever and an analog power setting. Very light - bit of a trade off in saving weight vs having a second strap over the top of your head - but due to the light weight of the lamp and battery compartment you don’t really need the extra strap.
Would be nice to have finer control of the beam angle as the up-down setting is governed by set clicks on the mount that are a bit far apart for my liking.
Comes with 2 sets of Duracell OEM batteries, I guess to make sure the installed batteries can be replaced immediately if you think someone has been using the “test it” button on the pack a bit too much. As someone noted, there is a wire from the test button going into the battery compartment that just needs to be janked out before use.

I looked at oodles of different types, the weirdly branded ones with a gazzillion LEDs didn't appeal, this one with a single lamp seemed ideal. It comes in strange packaging where you can test the light, this needs to be pulled out! Once that was done I put in 3 of the supplied batteries and wow, for such a little lamp it is really bright.
Good points
1. Very bright
2. Nice zoom function, you can get the ideal spread of light
3. Power slider to dim the LED is really useful, I've started using it for reading at night in bed instead of a bedside light!
4. Comfortable, well adjustable head band.
Bad points
1. I couldn't recommend it for lycra clad speed cyclists, I'd want something a bit more powerful for that, for a commuting cyclist it would be OK though.
It really is the perfect little light, 6 batteries come with it too, what more could you ask for.
