5.0 out of 5 stars Great screen. I’ll buy one for every project I do!!
Reviewed in the United States on 23 October 2019
At the time when I placeD my order this screen did not come with the Screen to GPIO power cable. Right away I knew this was a good screen by the way it was packaged. Packaged very well and comes with everything you NEED to get it working, at least on a raspberry pi.
The customer service alone is worth a 5 star review. I have sent them numerous emails to which they promptly respond to. Very courteous and friendly as well as helpful.

Here are the pros:
-For the price, you really can’t get a better touchscreen display with built in speakers.
-Video and sound quality is pretty good. I mainly use it to watch YouTube or play older game emulators.
-High quality parts. Especially the usb cables and HDMI cable to use for an external source.
-Packaged extremely well, everything has a nice bag for it and the soft styrofoam cutouts hold everything securely.
-3-pin power cable that came afterwards cleaned everything up and now I like it even more. Allows the back to be tidied up a lot (Photo 4).
-Great customer service.
-Fabulous customer service.
-Did I mention they awesome customer service?

And the Cons:
-The supplied FPC cable doesn’t seem secure in the way you have to attach it. It is measured to be the exact size needed for a model B board but has an awkward bend and twist to get it to fit right (Photo 1). I feel of they could make it a right angle 90° solid bend coming off the HDMI plug it would be way better.

-Mine did not initially come with the 3-pin 5v/5v/g cable that you can use to power my Pi. There was one sent to me early October free of charge without me having to ask for it. This cable made all the difference. If you did not have that cable, the only way to power on your Pi is with a usb cable that sticks out the bottom of the screen and interferes with it sitting flush using the provided stand(s) (Photos 2-3). You can always display_rotate=# how you need and then flip it upside down so the power cable sticks out the top but lcd_rotate and other normal functions do not rotate the touch part.

-Seems to run quite warm when on for a long time, I’ve had it run for 10 days straight at one time and I’d didn’t give me any issues.
-The provided user manual/instruction manual is garbage. I’m by no means a computer wizard and it took me 2 weeks to figure out how the touch function works. so in case you’re like me and can’t figure it out you have to plug the usb cable from the raspberry pi into the micro usb labeled “touch.” Also a micro usb cable into the power AND into the pi. Then it worked without any configuration.

You can power the screen off the usb port straight into the touch port, but the resolution stays larger due to the lack of power the pi puts out over usb. And you also need the usb cable into the pi directly to do that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works Very Well with RPI
Reviewed in the United States on 10 February 2020
This screen is very nice and bright for the Raspberry Pi (RPI) Computer. The RPI mounts very easily to the back with the provided hardware. The Legs should be installed so that the power for the RPI is at the bottom of the screen. It is a bit awkward as there isn't much room between the RPI Power cable and the area provided by the legs, but it works. I had attempted to mount the legs on the other side. I searched for solutions to reversing the screen and the touch screen. I was able to reverse the screen without problem, but the touch screen was operating in reverse. Unable to find a solution to controlling the touch screen, I switched the legs to the other side. Now it works as designed. I was not too familiar with the HDMI ribbon cable connection, but did manage to get it connected properly with the first try. The HDMI cable is just barely long enough to fit. The sound works, but is weak. It is adequate for most local needs. I have included a photo of the front screen, the back with the RPI attached, and a video of the touch screen being used. The system comes with a touch screen styles, but also works well with a finger. All in all, it works well with the RPI and I am pleased with the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Measurements I wish I had
Reviewed in the United States on 6 March 2020
This purchase was a major disappointment to me for what I hoped for and needed, but despite my own personal misfortune, I cannot give this product less than 5 stars in every category. It is a great little screen. I will not be returning it and will put it to use one of these days, but at least now I see what all these 7" screens really are in visual area. 7" diagonal doesn't give us exactly how wide and tall it is. I chose this one above the others due to the sizes given. Well, there is the trick(ery). Many sell this screen in giving the measurements of the screen real estate (bezels included in that). Those that list larger sizes are talking giving you the total height which includes the mounting tabs.

I searched for weeks for someone to give actual visual measurements and finally took a gamble and bought it. I added these pictures to help others. The pictures may be a tad skewed but the actual visual area measurements are 6 and 1/16th inches x 3 and 3/8 inches. Diagonally is really 6 and 15/16. To give an idea of size I uploaded a picture with my xfinity remote and also know that that tape measure is a mini, not nearly as wide as a normal tape measure. The last picture looks awful compared to what you see in person. That picture is the best I had to show the color and even though this is advertised at 1024x600 I have the resolution set at 1920x1080. Never expected to see those adjustments. I played videos on it and am very impressed for what it can do. Just wow!

Cons:
Just my own disappointment in the lack of information for visual measurements.

Pros:
Picture quality is top notch.
Audio is much better than I thought it would be.
Screen is plastic but solid and looks and feels like glass.
Screen resolution for my video card lets me get 1920x1080 on this using it as is out of the box.

I only use it as a monitor so only need the usb mini (for power) and HDMI. No need for raspberry here. Using it for a C182 cockpit simulator build. Running as a monitor at 1920x1080, videos, pics, programs etc for a couple of hours and it's barely warm.

If anyone out there comes across anything other than an ipad (doesn't work with my software) that has an actual visual screen of 6.5" x 3", please let me know and I'll name my first 11 kids after you!!!
