New replacement model had the same problem except its on the backspace. Typing is such a hassle because the backspace gets stuck and sometimes erases heaps of words before it unstucks itself.
Also questionable quality when it comes to the hinges. My right hinge is not exactly level but the one on the left is decent enough. Not keen to find out how long this hinge designs will last especially if its considered to be a 2 in 1 convertible.
For the price, really cannot fault the performance. Top notch Ryzen processor that runs really cool and quick and with a decent 16gb of ram. However, my typing experience is far from perfect. Lenovo is usually known for decent keyboards. Really can't say the same for this model. Highly disappointed and am considering returning it again and never buying another laptop from Lenovo. Sorry Amazon/Lenovo but consider me really disappointed with this laptop....again.
Its actually smaller than I expected, and is the same size as my 13 inch Spin. Its also thinner and weighs less,. It is heavier than a tablet but then it contains far more inside it than a tablet. does
It comes with programs pre-loaded, including a licensed copy of McAfee, according to the protests as I uninstalled it. As someone else mentioned, the Lenovo software and adverts are not overwhelming compared to other proprietary brands so will not be a problem until you run out of storage space. I know a lot of us use online storage, but 256 Gb is not a decent size hard drive, no matter how fast, so sooner or later you may want to replace it.
That said, it is a nippy little laptop and versatile with its 360 degree configuration. It comes with 2 regular USB ports, and the USB c port that is used with the power supply. The plug is American but since the first part of a power supply that goes into the adaptor is generic, I used a cable from another laptop to gt it charged up. A second-hand one would work well and save a bit of money if you cannot get to an electronics store. immediately. I haven't found the screen any harder to look at than the one on the Acer Spin. Its important to keep the AMD drivers up to date as eventually you will get problems if you don't bother. Apparently this little laptop wiped the floor in benchmark tests with its Intel counterpart, and both didn't give too much change out of $2,000 when it was possible to buy them here, so the Ryzen chip is fast. It compares favourably to the Microsoft Surface too. It represents very good value for money as many computer resellers are still offering older laptops with inferior specs at top dollar prices, so there is a certain amount of future-proofing built in. For portable computing you probably can't get a better deal, and its good enough to be a family computer. The icing on the cake was that mine arrived several weeks early. Well done Lenovo!
Pros - it's lightning fast and doesn't come with a lot of bloatware, which is good. Feels durable and well built. I have seen a lot of people commenting about the screen and that it may not be bright enough - I think it's exaggerated. The screen is perfectly fine and sufficiently bright for normal indoor use...plus it's a touchscreen!!
Cons - feels heavier than an ultrabook, but it's not as heavy as my work laptop. I bought this to use at home and I am not planning to travel with it, so it is perfectly fine. Wish it had more USB ports but will manage.
By far the best value laptop that you can buy from Australia - yes this is a US import but you should take advantage of Amazon to buy a great laptop without paying a premium charged to Australian customers!

Let's get the rundown here.
- Ryzen 5 4500U 6c6t APU
- Radeon Vega 6 graphics
- 16 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz dual-channel RAM (CL 22, but that's par for the course for a consumer laptop)
- 256 GB SK Hynix NVMe SSD
- 1080p IPS touchscreen w/digitizer (pen included!)
Build quality is about as good as you can get without moving to all metal. The keyboard deck is rubberized, and the outside is built solidly - no creaking! Hinge is strong, but it opens up almost all the way with one hand (tilts towards the end). The overall design is darn near similar to last year's model, but built a bit more "premium." One exhaust vent at the back, but as you'll see later it really doesn't need 2.
I mainly focused on CPU performance, as benchmarks for this flavor of Vega 6 are all over the place already, and given the thermals I saw performance should be what you'll find elsewhere. Long story short - roughly 10% faster than the 3500U's Vega 8 at less power (15 W vs 25 W).
The benchmarks speak for themselves, but I was very surprised at what this thing was capable of. I ran these on the included USB-C wall charger (which was a surprising inclusion considering the laptop has a barrel jack for power). The only thing to keep in mind is that this was tested when my room temperature was in the upper 70s to lower 80s, so you could see the temp results as a "worst case" scenario. 77c absolute max during Geekbench is crazy for this thing, especially considering how thin it is. Never got too loud, either. Fan isn't whiny at all!
Camera is acceptable. Nothing to write home about, but it'll work well enough for video calls. Battery is excellent - while browsing the web and watching videos, I have been consistently draining 10% per hour of use! That 10 hour claim from Lenovo seems pretty spot on.
Honestly, I could think of only 3 things that would make this laptop better, but all of them would definitely drive up the price/bump it up a tier:
- 120 Hz FreeSync display like the (crippled by 8 GB RAM) IdeaPad Slim 7
- Ryzen 4600U/4800U options for more threads (4700U option is now available in some places)
- Metal construction
I'll personally be upgrading the storage, but overall it's amazing.
There are only a few of shortcomings that I found so far. First, and a fairly small one, is that the battery isn't as great as they imply. I feel I'm only getting 6 hours on average, which isn't bad at all for a laptop, but no where near the 10 hours they proudly advertise. The colours on the screen are also not so great, and it isn't the best for brightly lit environments. I also wish there was a cover to snap on the keyboard while it's tablet mode, since I feel this would be something I want to use in tablet mode most of the time.
One big issue unrelated to the actual product itself, however, is the warranty, which will be an absolute headache for whoever has to deal with that in Canada since we have to ship to the US, apparently. The warranty extension also isn't valid here, which is disappointing.
Overall, I'm still having a good time using it as an art tool and for web browsing, but people here should be careful of the warranty issue and other small concerning aspects.
Users that said they hear fan come on alot is due to high CPU usage, so example, installing software will boost that.
But majority of the time its not loud only during very high CPU usage scenarios. I have no issue with this as any laptop would do this.
Speed is really fast when doing reuglar jobs, browsing, youtube, netflix, shopping. 16GB soldered ram should last the next 5 yrs. I did upgrade the Realtek wifi card to a Wifi6 card as I do find sometimes 5G doesn't connect very well, easy $30 fix. You can also replace the NVME SSD Harddrive to a bigger size, it fits 2280 slots, you just need a cloning software or backup your drive on a USB and do a Windows 10 restore.
