Instead they only of the product "AS IS". This is what the Warranty Page for this product says on Lenovo (see screenshot)
"End of life product.
This product is end-of-life and no further updates will be provided. Any resources provided by Lenovo for this product are made available “AS IS” and without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In no case will Lenovo be liable for the failure of any provided resources to function as expected or intended and the loss of, or damage to, data."
I purchased this Laptop in February 2020 (less than a month ago).
Once I registered the product with Lenovo I discovered that the 1 Year Warranty had already started (there was only 2 months left on it). I contacted Lenovo and they reset the Warranty period. However - they also "UPDATED/CHANGED" my warranty to have the above message on it.
I have raised with Lenovo that this is illegal under Australian Trade Practices. And while Lenovo have been professional in communicating with me - the company has not withdrawn the statement nor have they taken adequate action to resolve the issue (The product is still provided "AS IS").
It is a shame as the product appears to be a very good laptop. But if you are paying a premium price for a laptop - then you want to make sure that you are getting a premium product with full support.
You have been warned. If you buy this product - expect that your warranty will be worthless and that you will need to go to the ACCC to enforce your rights. Screenshot is attached to show you my warranty page on the Lenovo support page.
Don't expect the latest and greatest, but it's a good work unit for travel as it's very light. It's not good for entertainment, as it's not a touch screen and the screen doesn't fold all the way. but if you're using it for work it's pretty good.
the big let down: WIFI module.
It keeps dropping wifi. I checked online for solution, try updating driver, changing settings. It just keeps happening. and I can only learn to live with it. When it happens, you must restart. Luckily, restart is quick, less than 2 minutes.
This is the reason for the 2 star rating. For most users, this would be very annoying.
If you do a search online, you see many comments and complaints on this topic.
I have two lenovo. Both do display similar issues, but S730 is the worst. I have never had a session
of use where I don't need to restart to get wifi again.
I can live with it, as the bargain price and the hassle of return are factors.
But this will really put me back in future when considering Lenovo.
I hope they get their act together, as the quality of the hardware is pretty good, and it will be sad
to see a top player flounder and thus reducing competition in the market.
