It's sleek and very well built.
The body of the laptop is metallic and does not attract fingerprints or smudges.
Display quality is also quite good for the price.
Although little lenovo bloatware comes pre-installed.
Couple of cons:
- There is no place to store or stick the active pen on the laptop. Although, using a supplied attachment you can stick it to the laptop but you will have to sacrifice (the only) USB type A port.
- Despite the front facing speakers, the sound from them is clear and decent.
Overall the laptop is really is good and worth buying.
The laptop itself is not too bad. It's very sleek and lightweight and battery life seems to be good. However, because it's lightweight, it feels dainty, so I feel like I have to be careful when handling it. I will be looking at buying a good protective sleeve when my replacement arrives.
A laptop cannot be reviewed without considering customer support. So here's my feedback on Lenovo's customer support. They have been pretty communicative but not all my issues were resolved. The laptop arrived on 30 Dec 2019, but its warranty start date was in Sep 2019. Wrote to Lenovo Support and they updated the warranty start date. However, they updated it to the date I ordered it, not the date I received it. I was about to write in again when I discovered the faulty keys, so I had to shelf the warranty issue for the time being. Now that the replacement has been ordered, I wrote in again to ask when will the warranty of the new unit start. I was asked to ask Amazon! And I really don't get that. We're talking about manufacturer's warranty here, not Amazon's 30-day purchase satisfaction guarantee. Will see what happens when the replacement arrives.
the build quality of the lenovo c740 is awesome and the wife really likes it,
only con is the camera isn't as good on it, her old laptop had a better one, but not a big deal, buy a 40 dollar 1080p HD cam and issue solved. apart from that, its really good, fast and does everything she needs quick.
the laptop can get a little warm, but i expect it when its so slim and running an i7 cpu,
it also came with a touch screen pen, which is good because i thought i would have to buy one,
so in the end, the wife is happy and that all the matters, plus i'm just glad i got this during prime day sale.
