Product description
Product Description
Changing light colours is as easy as 1-2-3-4 with Ledlenser’s clever P7QC hand torch. It offers instant White, red, green or blue light from a single multi-coloured Cree power LED light chip with just a simple turn of the torch head. Never before has it been so quick to switch from one colour to another - there are no filters, no gels, no mini-LEDs , just one big, bright coloured light the moment you need it. There is even a colour-coded guide on the barrel to help you make the right selection - all in just a fraction of a second. Choose white for bright, general illumination, red to preserve night vision, green for hunting at night without disturbing wildlife or blue for forensics, police work and fog. A prismatic diffusor inside the lens helps optimise light distribution across all colours up to a generous 220 lumens brightness. Professionals and serious users will also welcome the three separate light functions - power, low Power and blink - generated by micro-chip controlled Smart Light Technology inside, and activated by a simple end cap dynamic switch on the outside. A robust metal casing and inner gold battery contacts should keep the P7Q running smoothly for up to 25 hours run time. Supplied with a belt pouch, lanyard and 4 x AAA batteries.
Supplied with : Belt pouch, wrist-strap and duracell batteries (4 x AAA)

Well as for the P7 there definitely is no shortage of power 💪🏻 the 450 lumens is incredible for a Compact torch and does not fail to impress 👍🏻 now when it's in flood light mode it shows a pure light but when it is on spot there are rings out from the centre.
One of the features I like it may seem trivial but it is great that the torch can stand up on its end.
A good way to light up a room for example 😁 the older model couldn't do that as you can see in the photo😐 as far as ergonomics go they have smoothed it's profile and I find it difficult to go from flood to spot just using the thumb and index finger on the slide. I find I have to use the index finger over the tip of the torch to bring it back from spot to flood mode. No real big deal I guess but I think a small Notch or Groove would improve that 🤔
I love the versatility of 3 power modes, great design there😜.
I personally don't use the holder it comes with, I prefer to have it attached to the belt loops on my pants with that little clip as you see in the photo. That way I can just use it from the hip if I need to or take it off or together 🙂
All in all I would say a great, powerful compact versatile waterproof little pocket rocket!

Small, powerful, perfect for in the pocket storage and using when needed.

I also found a replacement battery/switch cartridge for the P7.2. The fact that such a thing is even available suggests that I am not the first to have had problems with the 'clever little multi-switch'!
I will shortly run a comparison test for their relative brightness but the first thing I notice with the standard P7 is the sequence of settings with its multi-switch whereby it returns to the 'OFF' state in between each of the three brightness modes. In contrast, the P7.2 cycles through the three brightness modes before returning to 'OFF'. This latter method is better.

I bought the latest model of the P7 to replace my old one, which I gave to my mother. That old model is going strong nine years after purchasing it, but my new model, at little over a year old, is dead already. It hasn't been a patch on its predecessor: the battery life has been absolutely dismal, giving me only about ten minutes of usable light from fresh batteries; the variable brightness function has stopped working; and the material used for the battery casing, being a cheap flimsy plastic, has cracked, so the batteries no longer stay in place. I am bitterly disappointed.

I would definitely buy again, but I am looking for a Ledlenser rechargeable, but I'll only buy when price is reduced by deal of the day or similar. But don't get me wrong this is a very powerful, well made little torch. Only one slight reservation, registering for the 7 year warranty, the website did recognise any of the numbers I tried. There is some suggestion of counterfeit in some of the reviews, but I am pretty sure Amazon would not allow such a thing.

The quality and function of this torch is completely different to the P7.2 purchased IN 2017 and it is still going.
The P7.2 works fantastic, this one turns itself of for no reason, turn it back on and it goes into a flashing mod within seconds. The torch when turned on lasts about 30 secs then goes into disco mod. (Do not mind dancing but not tripping when it keeps flashing on and off)
3 times i have had to return it and there will not be a 4th.
I have tried to contact company direct, but they have not got the decency to respond.
Amazon have been brilliant in quickly replacing the unit.
I personally think they should remove it from sales.
If they had 0 as O/All rating it would give it that.
