About the Author
Sam Taplin is a published author, compiler, and an editor of children's books.
As a child, Rosalinde could not decide whether she wanted to be a wildlife biologist, a writer or an illustrator. But, because she spent most of her time doodling (even all over her notebooks during class!) or creating plays and sets for her puppets, she finally decided to study art after high school. She joined the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Since her graduation, Rosalinde has written and/or illustrated numerous books. When she isn't working or reading in her studio, she likes hiking, observing nature, taking photos, and making vegan pastries. You can visit her at www.rosalindebonnet.com.

1.0 out of 5 starsFaulty Product - Christmas present so only just discovered the problem - return date now passed

I am writing this review in the hope that it may be responded to, as I can't see any way of writing directly to the seller and my return window has closed.
I bought this book as a Christmas present after seeing it at a class he goes to and liking it. When this works it is a really good product, however there appears to be a fault with mine as most of the buttons don't work and instead repeat the wrong word. (The word it repeats is in the same place on each car so there is obviously a fault with it in that area). I know I bought this a long time ago now, but as it was a Chrismtmas present nobody had tried to play with it to discover the problem until Christmas. It was broken from the first use - and hasn't been mishandled previously as it has been stored at the back of a cupboard since purchase waiting for Christmas.
I would really like to return this product and either get a refund or a new one sent. Please let me know if there is any way of doing this.
5.0 out of 5 starsGreat book to help teach kids another language

We have this book in 2 other languages as well. Having taught myself how to speak a few languages fluently, combining visual dictionaries with audio is a brilliant way to learn. This way you and the child learn how to pronounce words correctly as well.
3.0 out of 5 starsexcellent to learn how to pronounce the words

excellent to learn how to pronounce the words, 2 year old loves it, however the cards arent always recognized straight away - it will sometimes read the words from a different card which isnt helpful! & the "pocket" that holds the card to be read is extremely flimsy - already needed to be sellotaped 3 times now)
I usually love usbourne books but was really dissappointed with this. The cards slip about in the envelope and when you press the sounds they more often than not just don't work. Not very useful.
4.0 out of 5 starsGood product but no colours or numbers

This is a brilliant idea and ours works perfectly. My only complaint is that there are no colours or numbers, which you would normally think would be included in 'first words'. However, as an introduction to some simple vocab and pronunciation it is a great way for my daughter to learn independently and interactively without needing a screen.
