The Logitech TrackMan Marble gives you superior comfort – for either hand. Ambidextrous design provides long-lasting comfort for right- and left-handed people. Convenient button controls let you easily move forward and backward when you’re surfing the Web. Click the large buttons together and use the ball for auto-scrolling. Fingertip-based control enables fast, accurate cursor movements. Patented Marble optical technology ensures smooth tracking. Clean the button/key with compressed air. Verify the product or receiver is connected directly to the computer and not to a hub, extender, switch or something similar. Unpair/repair or disconnect/reconnect hardware. Upgrade firmware if available. Windows only — try a different USB port. If it makes a difference, try updating the motherboard USB chipset driver. Try on a different computer. Windows only — if it works on a different computer, then the issue might be related to a USB chipset driver. If you’re not sure if the problem is a hardware or software issue, try switching the buttons in the settings (left click becomes right click and right click becomes left click). If the problem moves to the new button it is a software setting or application issue and hardware troubleshooting cannot resolve it. If the problem stays with the same button it is a hardware issue. If a single-click always double-clicks, check the settings (Windows mouse settings and/or in Logitech SetPoint/Options/G HUB/Control Center/Gaming Software) to verify if the button is set to Single Click is Double Click. NOTE: If buttons or keys respond incorrectly in a particular program, verify if the problem is specific to the software by testing in other programs.

Top reviews from other countries
One of the rubber feet on the bottom wore off after about 10 years, although it can be glued back on, and dirt can accumulate under the ball and in the gaps between the buttons but this can be cleaned with cotton buds, toothpicks, and compressed air. Also, the logo on the front started to wear after about 8 years. The biggest issue, after about 10 years of use, is that the ball has gained quite a bit of play and stops me using it properly and that is why I purchased a new one. I use it almost every day and all day and for it to last 10 years is fantastic value and shows great reliability. It has also travelled many times with me, loose in a day pack.
So, this is the most perfect mouse for me and I will continue to use it and recommend it. I use it in combination with a gel wrist pad. I'm not a gamer so don't know how it performs with games.
Since switching to the Apple Mac, I've been using the (wired) mighty mouse. I like it's use especially the ability to scroll in any direction. However, I'm fed up with replacing it every 9-10 months.
Had a good look around and, due mainly to the reviews on Amazon, decided to give this tracker ball a go.
After such a long time using a mouse, it's been hard but I've persevered and am just beginning to see it's benefits. I still find it hard, sometimes, to get the the cursor directly over a small part of the page and I still sometimes click on the 'select' buttons rather than the cursor up or down buttons but I'm getting there.
Like a number of other reviewers, I find the use of a tracker ball much easier on the hand, with less movement of the wrist required than with a mouse.
Finally, I must say that I am impressed with the quality of the tracker's construction. It's well weighted and the button 'click' with quite a robust feeling. The ability to remove and clean the ball itself making the whole thing easy to keep clean is a godsend.
UPDATE AFTER 4 WEEKS of USE
I'm now whizzing about the screen AND finding it a lot easier to get the cursor in exactly the right place. I found it useful repeatedly changing the 'mouse' speed on my Mac (OS X 10.6.8) so the I can manage the subtleties of movement better. Still prefer a mouse, but that's 30 years of use against a month with a tracker-ball.
The trackman is stationary and I move the ball - no problems. This is very good for tight areas.
The unit does gather dust and grime over a couple of months, but the ball is easily popped-out and the unit can be cleaned.
The one issue that I had is with the mouse switches, which cannot be removed and go bad after 2 years. This is not bad, but when nothing else is wrong with the mouse and the switches go ... dratted.
- I am not the only one with this complaint.
- This device is not being pushed by Logitech and this unit is imported from the US and sold with high mark-up compared to the US unit. But the mouse is absolutely fantastic
IF I HADN'T HAD TO VIRTUALLY DESTROY THE PLASTIC PACKAGING TO REMOVE THE MOUSE I WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN IT FOR A REFUND
It is smaller than expected. My hand doesn’t rest as well of the product as wished.
The software supplied for it is also not good enough. A 3rd party small piece of software came to the rescue. The reason for this comment is that in a normal mouse the scroll wheel function os this unit is really bad it lacks of fine scrolling. The 3rd party software brings that to it which is great but I should not be hunting for it. Logitech take your finger out.
The smallest buttons also are ergonomically incorrectly positioned. To get to them some finger acrobatics is required.
