The display section just keeps showing ''no''. No matter what I do, it will not play a CD. I tried 3 different CDs, all of them brand new, sealed in wrapped CD package. The display on the boombox just keeps showing ''no'' and will do nothing. Both my husband and I have read the 'owner's manual' over and over and followed every direction exactly.
This thing is too darn expensive for this kind of mess. AND there is no phone number anywhere to call for help from the manufacture, seller or help from anyone. The only contact info is an email address so you can send it in for repairs. Also telling you about what costs you will have to pay to get it 'fixed'
Are you kidding me!!!! It is brand new, taken directly out of the box, and it won't work. So the only help you can get is an email address to write to so you can send it to them so they can fix it,, all at your expense!!!!
WRONG WRONG WRONG This sort of dealings should never happen to anyone who buys this item.
This radio is branded as a Magnavox, but is a Craig Electronics product. Cheaply made and horrible customer service.
Edit 9-10-2019: I emailed Craig Electronics on 8-30-2019 with the information to start a warranty claim. As of today, I still have not heard back.
Edit 1-7-2020: I was finally able to get in touch with someone at Craig after the seller contacted them and was able to set up a return for warranty work. I set up a pick up through Fed Ex and it was gone when I got home from work. After no changes in the tracking info, I contacted Fed Ex and heard back today from their claims department that they didn't pick it up.
TL:DR The CD player stopped after 2 months, it took several emails and phone calls to Craig to get the warranty process begun, and then someone stole the broken radio before Fed Ex could pick it up. I deeply regret this purchase and the 6 months of headaches it caused. I never would have imagined that having it stolen by a porch pirate would be the most positive experience of owning it.
My only disappointment is that it doesn't have incremental timer auto-shut off for the radio since I often listen while drifting off to sleep. Yes, I knew this before purchasing but figured the product had all the other features I was looking for.
One minor annoyance is that the blue LED is so darn bright! I have to cover it at night with a piece of cloth. Additionally, I shut off the needless pulsating disco beat lights.
So yeah.....it's been a good deal so far. Let's just hope the CD cover lid stays locked in place. I've never trusted those!
