It locks perfectly, no jams, easy lock and release, key can't get any smoother. But it can unfortunately be EASILY opened with a simple raking technique.
So, if all you need is a lock to take to the gym, or a backyard shed that you don't want kids getting into, this lock is perfectly fine. I would definitely not trust it to secure anything worth stealing.
Masterlock is a great brand, trusted by many, but their cheaper end locks aren't worth it if you're looking to secure anything important.
I bought this lock to practice lock-picking, a hobby which I picked up YESTERDAY.
This was the first lock I tried picking after a transparent ACRYLIC lock for absolute beginners.
I was absolutely floored by how absurdly, pathetically easy it was to pick this with minimal knowledge and low-quality tools. I can do it in about 5 seconds after getting a feel for it.
It wasn't even good for practicing lock-picking! I learned nothing from it because it was SO EASY.
