To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
We got this for a daughter for her birthday...her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when she saw it. What a great present it was! Or so we thought. Not only does it have ZERO memory and will not work unless you have an expansion card, but the card that is SHOWN in the images above (a typical SD card), isn't the one that actually works. We know because we tried to use it. Nope. Damn near ruined the card we tried to use.
Why use an image of an SD card that does not work? On top of that, the circular navigation on front is just absurdly designed. You don't press the center to "select" something...that took a while to figure out. The instructions are virtually worthless and it uses a charging cord that was typical...circa 2000. Not even a micro USB cord, it was the thicker kind that was in use before that.
Lesson learned. Try to save money and you'll regret it. Just bite the bullet and buy one that has good reviews and actually comes with built-in memory. Or, one that actually uses a real normal SD card and not something that was so out of date that unless you look for one off eBay you'll never find it new.
In short: AVOID THIS mp3 player at ALL COSTS. An utterly enormous waste of money.
I ordered two of these as Christmas gifts. One of them did not work right away, it would not charge, and the buttons did not work. I exchanged this item with the exact same item right away. The second Christmas gift seemed to be working fine for about a week, then it too stopped charging. And finally, the replacement item would not recognize the same card I had used in the previous mp3 player of the same model.
I put a bunch of music on this thing, and I will admit that I barely use the thing, but so far I have only charged it once, and it's been sitting there for a long time on the shelf, and still reports a full battery. I took it apart to see the innards, looking for any major design flaws, and it doesn't appear to be that poorly engineered, either.
The UI is a nightmare to navigate, changing some of the controls you'd expect from an ipod clone device to be different just for the sake of making it different. The center click button, which you'd expect to work like an enter button in the main UI is actually the back button, and the top menu button on the keypad is mapped to be the enter. It'd definitely be better if it had homebrew software on it.
The screen is also nothing to write home about, I wouldn't use the video playback feature of this device at all, instead, I'd just opt to use it for its fairly decent audio output if you want a cheap MP3 player that you don't have to worry so much about getting damaged, thanks to the low price tag. It also might make a decent MP3 player for a child that you don't want to give some expensive, fancy device to, especially if they tend to break things!
Unbelievably difficult to use. I return this after several attempts to use it. Every time you turn it on it starts on the same album on the same song. It takes multiple button pushes to get to a new song. The buttons are not labeled correctly so it takes longer to figure out how to get to the next album or even to the next song. You cannot shuffle the songs throughout the albums. so you're pretty much stuck listening to the same album over and over.
It has no internal memory which isn't a big deal. But the ease of use makes it a horrible product. Not good for children adults or grandparents.
Easy to use once you figure it out but very cheaply made. The buttons get pushed down into the device very easily. My kids each got one and after returning one for buttons being lodged, I gave up. They all do it and it doesn’t take much. Even the power slide button gets pushed down inside of the device. I won’t be buying any more of these.
The price is good, the sound is okay, but that's about all that's good about this thing. The buttons don't do what you think they do. The Menu button is OK and the OK button is Menu. There is no concept of playlists, artists, or albums. The Music is not alphabetical and you can't change the sort order. The FM radio really stinks - it's mostly static, even on powerful stations nearby. I'm going to have to manually organize the music into folders for different genres, but that still doesn't fix it. Stay away.
This is a great idea for working out, or just a way to relax. The built in equalizer is awesome and love how you can add a 65 gb card into the unit for extra music. Would recommend this to anyone. The headphones aren't that great for people with small ear channels, but you can always buy different ones. I still love this product. I have bought several of these for my grandbabies and other family members.
This product is one of those you have to go to their webpage to get it to connect to work. It charges fine but will not connect to the computer to download music. Is very frustrating. Cannot tell whether the battery life or music quality is any good since it is not easy to get it to connect to the source. Very disappointed!!
I bought this for my daughter. First, my husband couldn't get it to connect to his computer to load stuff onto it. Then it froze on and wouldn't do anything. It's so cheap. I should have just bought a more expensive one. I was just hoping this worked as she doesn't need anything technical. It would just be nice if this worked correctly.
