The ingredients mentioned in the book are well known to me and can easily get and try them such as vinegar which is useful for my flaky scalp dandruff, honey for restoring and healthier follicles.
As I love different hairstyles to my hair and I need a proper neat hairstyle like the hairdressers to tend to do but now I have grasped many exciting gel recipes section in the book for my hairstyles which I can apply quickly before heading to any gathering.
I wished to find this book earlier but something is better than nothing so I am going to gift this book to my mum so we both can have the beautiful hair.
I like the idea of henna rinse and apple cider vinegar as a treatment for greasy and coloured dark hair. Also interesting is yarrow shampoo for greasy hair as well as green tea shampoo or rinse. I have lots of herbs to experiment and Susan gives me inspiration to do and try. Funny are myth about hair, how it grows, getting grey or split or how frequently you need to wash them.
Prepare my first shampoo gives me and my kids lots of fun! Thank you Susan.
This book is another triumph for Susan Hollister. She takes you from the science of how your hair actually grows to the other extreme of old wives’ tales. Some of the tales turn out to be true but some, surprisingly are nonsense. Apparently, lather is not essential to clean your hair and trimming, contrary to popular belief does not make your hair grow faster. The recipes for your own shampoos are fascinating and sound delicious enough to eat. I will definitely try the one for an itchy scalp and once made, it can be stored and kept for several uses.
Treatments for the hair are sometimes so amazingly easy that trying them is np problem at all. Rubbing almond oil into the hair, leaving it for twenty minutes and then washing away, feeds your hair with vitamins, calcium and magnesium, retains moisture and helps growth. The same treatment with mayonnaise as a conditioner is to rub onto dry hair, leave awhile and then rinse and shampoo.
Thanks Susan for a whole lot of tips and tricks. Great book to read.
