Positives:
- solidly built
- can operate plugged in (100-240V) or with batteries
- batteries recharge quickly enough (within a 3-4 hours)
- can adjust color temperature and light output
Negatives:
- once the optional Neewer softbox is fitted, you can't use the built-in swivel to adjust the angle, you need a separate swivel bracket on your light stand
- the color accuracy with both dials at max is not quite daylight (maybe 5000K, not quite 5500K, see the amazon.com review to that effect by someone who had the professional equipment to measure that)
- with the softbox fitted on, both dials maxed and using the power cable (not the batteries), the light output is at most 650-800 Lux at one meter (as measured with LightMeter Pro app on my iPhone), which is not sufficient to use as a key light when shooting youtube videos for example (min 1000 Lux at one meter
As another US reviewer wrote, if you need a key light to use a continuous light source, consider a higher Lux rated light panel in the 6000-10000 Lux range, so you don't have to sit right under the light panel...
