Lindsey is someone I follow on social media and was excited to purchase her 1st book. It’s beautifully written and the photography is excellent. I’m so looking forward to visiting Paris in 2021 as our trip was obviously postponed this year. Can’t wait to read her 2nd book, The New Parisienne!
Loved reading this book. I bought it a few months before moving to Paris for work. It made me want to live in the 10th/11th arrondissements. Unfortunately, I didn't end up living over there, but I get to hang out at all the awesome establishments mentioned in this book. And it's so cool knowing the back stories and the movement fueling the revitalization of certain sectors! Great read.
My wife and I have been going to Paris a couple of times a year for many years so I feel like I know the city more than just a little bit. This book has opened a whole new Paris to us (no pun intended). The author talks about things most tourists would never find on their own. We now make it a point to try different recommendations each trip. A fabulous book with great information and photos.
Give this as a gift to everyone I know heading to Paris these days. Great writing, great photography. Seems it has defined its own life cycle, but hopefully the author will do another book to keep us updated and in the know!
I've been visiting Paris for many years and have come to fall in love with it again through Lindsey's book. Many may view this a travel or food book, and they would not be wrong. But to me it is so much more! As an urban planner and lover of cities and how they tick, The New Paris explains how talent, innovation and the sweat equity of many young entrepreneurs is essentially reshaping and redefining the City of Lights. Lindsey has so well captured the essence of this renaissance and the spirit of all things Parisian. The quality of the photos, writings and even the feel and touch of the paper are beautifully executed. Ask Santa for one today!
I gave this book as a gift to my cousin who lives in Paris and is a foodie. It has an interesting history and story of food in Paris but is no real guide book and too bulky to carry with you on a trip to Paris. It would be good to have on the coffee table to read, or to read before a trip to Paris in order to get an understanding of the cuisine.
As a frequent traveler to France, Lindsay's local perspective gives a fun and personal view of the styles and feelings in contemporary Paris. Bistro and Cafe but also attitude and location, she gives the welcome feeling of what this big city is as a true neighborhood.
