I had this for about a month, and used it daily until the button stuck and I can't get it unstuck--so it's a worthless piece of junk at this point. The problem, as I see it, is the plastic and the overall design.
I paid $27.95 for this and it lasted one month before it malfunctioned
Nikon 25395 MC-DC2 Remote Release Cord (1 Meter)
It's not like the old days when a cable release lasted forever.
Save your money and invest in something better. I also found the piece you hold in your hand to be an awkward design and balance. Even after a month of daily use I always had the thing upside down at a crucial moment. I thought that I'd get used to the feel and it would become second nature to hold it right. But that never happened, and then the button stuck right in the middle of shooting a food scene with a flaming grill. So I pulled it off my camera and threw it on the ground. The next day I tried to get the button to unstick but it's still stuck.
Purchased this cable release back in January 2014...it got pretty heavy use and finally broke in July of 2016. Overall good quality. Will probably buy again and hopefully get another 2.5 years out of the next one.
UPDATED: I purchased a second cable expecting to get another 2 years out of it...it only lasted 1 month! VERY Disappointed.
Nikon D810 Experience Book by Douglas Klostermann recommends it. However it is not compatible with Nikon D800 Camera. I tried to return it but the cost of returning the product is substantial (50%). I am not satisfied with the Adorama Return Policy either.
