1.0 out of 5 stars Beware fake pro controllers
By alaska on 24 January 2021
I wouldn't have noticed I received a 'fake' controller if the left analogue stick didn't...'stick' on occasion, which, while not a dealbreaker in itself, is a problem that'd only get worse over time. Before returning it for a replacement, I realized the controller I purchased had some other inconsistencies thanks to other Amazon reviewers, and switched to just refunding it. I purchased a real controller locally to compare it to, and you can spot all the issues in the attached photos.

Generally, the photos depict the fake on the left or first, and the real one on the right or second.

1. The box is fuzzier and features lower-les imagery on the phony controller, and no Nintendo seal on the back top section. The featured languages and layout are generally different. I never would notice this if I didn't already know.
2. The easter egg message under the right analogue stick is not the retro font, and features spelling errors.
3. The screws are different; lower quality in the phony controller. You can spot some broken plastic where the screws go in, too. The texture on the grips is different, but both are nice to be quite honest(!).
4. The battery is different, and features no Nintendo logo on the phony.
5. Slightly different materials and design for the L+R triggers, as well as the rumble hardware. (I did not open the controller up further beyond this step.)
6. The instruction manual is a cheap printout bearing no resemblance to the real thing, including a wealth of spelling errors. This is another where I thought I was kind of weird and out of place when trying to pair the controller, but didn't really think twice about until I already knew it was fake.
7. The wake-up console feature does not work on the phony. It was also comparatively hard to pair with my system, but I don't know why or if that's standard.
8. The rumble feels completely different. I actually really like the fake controller's rumble 'feel,' but it also rumbles at *everything* you do in games, which can be annoying.
9. I've read the amiibo feature doesn't work on the fakes, but I've never bought any amiibos so am unable to test that feature.

Regardless of whether you purchase through a third-party seller (I did not -- my seller is listed as 'Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd'), I would advise you check your controller to be the real thing. I've seen the fakes praised as nearly-flawless reproductions, and worth it at lower prices -- and yeah, it's still a good controller, and I probably would have kept it if not for the left analogue stick -- but you shouldn't be paying the same for it as the official Nintendo controllers (A$90-100) as I did.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work.
By Edwin Lee on 26 August 2019
The up button on the D-pad processes once every 10 press, the ZR button is kind of stuck and does not feel as smooth as the ZL button. This one might not be the controller itself but I cannot connect this to PC wired.

5.0 out of 5 stars Das teure Original
Reviewed in Germany on 21 November 2017
