The authors have done a great job outlining all the various plants by region, and have categorized them in a logical way. It's been helpful on our budget to know what we need when going to the nursery as well. Plus a little fun bonus is that when we are walking through our neighborhood we are able to spot and identify some of the native shrubs and flowers.
I will say the only thing is that while the book does outline average size of the plants, it's not super specific on planting depth, spacing, etc. Most of the "instructions" that come from the nursery do provide that detail, so it's not a deal-breaker for us.
We liked the concept so much we got our Mom one for mother's day for their new home across country. She loves it!
