Flawed design

I'll admit, I bought this on the strength of all the positive reviews, but the product seems to have a fundamental flaw.

Ok the unit looks neat, it's easy to reach over and withdraw/replace the brush in its holder and the brush itself is sturdy when cleaning 'stubborn' items. So far so good, but there's one major problem... the depth of the receptacle under the brush. As you'll see from Amazon's pictures of the item, the amount of liquid the receptacle can hold is very small indeed being as it's only a few millimetres deep. Sure, after using the brush you can shake it vigorously to try and remove any surplus water but the brush will always be slightly wet when you put it away meaning that some 'toilet' water will escape the brush into the receptacle while the brush is idle. Over time those tiny amounts of water build up and eventually leak all over your bathroom floor. What's more, the design of the stand doesn't lend itself to being easily lifted up and cleaned to prevent this.

Would I buy it again? Unfortunately no. I'll go for a more conventional type that's easier to empty/clean.

I was a bit hesitant spending this much on a toilet brush...but no regrets.

Pros:
-durable and well designed
-the way the compartment opens/closes is seamless and pretty genius
-It’s nice not having to touch a kid to put this back in, it satisfies my hygienic OCD
-Ventilation holes don’t the liquid evaporates

Cons:
-none so far, I will post an update if there are any
Edit: I’ve been using the brush for 6 months - still no complaints.

Seamos realistas, la escobilla no es nuestro elemento favorito del hogar. Después de estar frustrado con la calidad e higiene de otras escobillas descubrí este producto de OXO. En mi opinión, es el mejor escobillero que he visto en el mercado. De hecho lo he tenido en 2 casas diferentes y mis familiares lo han comprado después de mi recomendación. Por qué:
- Uso: Es muy sencillo e higiénico. Está siempre cubierto y solo se descubre para utilizarlo. Es fácil de volver a poner en el escobillero. Tiene un sistema que evita que se acumule agua contaminada en la escobilla
- Recambios: es posible comprar recambios de diferentes piezas
- Precio: Es caro, pero en mi opinión dada su usabilidad y duración merece el precio a pagar
- Forma: Es bastante elegante en comparación con su competencia
En resumen, si buscas una escobilla algo más higiénica, fácil de usar y estética este es tu producto
