At first I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this book. The elderly Harriet was 80 and lived alone. Recovering from a broken hip, she had decided that she didn’t want to carry on because she was so lonely. However, as the day unfolds, so does the story, with many characters being brought in, weaving their different stories together. As I have come to expect from Shari Low, alongside the sadness there is also an irrepressible humour. I won’t spoil the story by telling you what happens, but I can assure you that it is a good read.
I did actually read the whole book as I had bought it and wanted my money's worth while on holiday. It was very unbelievable, the characters were so stereotypical and I found the author took on more than she could chew with relating to characteristics and traits of different age groups. I doubt much research was carried out on issues like adoption, ivf , menopause, I could go on but I'll leave it there. I cringe when I think back. But hey, a cheesy, happy-go-lucky read with a big happy ending!
Shari has this amazing knack to steal time. Planning only to read one chapter i devoured the book in one sitting. Her characters, her twists, her gripping storylines are just magic. Having binged on all her books earlier in the year I was really looking forward to this, but now I have to wait again.
Another fab read from Shari. Having read all her books I was so looking forward to this one. Great story with likeable characters, a lovely happy ending too.😀 Hopefully not too long until the next one 😀
This book will make you laugh out loud and tug at your heartstrings. Brilliant characters all relatable that you become invested in and wish happy endings for. This book is perfect for some R&R, I couldn't put it down until it was finished. Can't wait for the next book to find out what's ahead for Yvie and her family.
Loved this book! Shari low has done it again, what a rollercoaster of emotions . Highly recommend this book which I could not put down and read in one day! All the characters are lovely and feel like family x
I was looking for a new author to read. Came across this little gem. I started it and couldn't stop it until it was finished. I laughed and cried in equal measure. I'm now looking for my next Shari Low book. Loved it.
