Phones are good but as this product is shipped from the USA it comes with adapters made for that market which can not be used in Australia. 120v vs 240v. Try plugging it in and it starts smoking. Avoid purchasing this handset in Australia.
First I want to say I really like the phone. But, some of the instructions are not to clear so you do have to kind of learn by trial and error - and as you use. I had to record my answer message several times before it finally worked and I had to change the time and date several times; well more like a dozen. I suggest you don't spend a lot of time with the manual. Go the customer support website. It's much more helpful; time consuming but it does explain how to get the time to stop jumping around on you, how to get your message to stay put, how to get your favorite names in your "phonebook" and keep them there and all the rest. My wife's biggest complaint was that the ring tone was loud and harsh and there is a way to correct that. It also says you MUST use a noise filter if you run the phone through your computer system. I use Magic Jack and they will not honor their guarantee when you use a noise filter. I removed the noise filter and their was no noise anyway so no worries there. It works fine. The website also has some notes about what to do if, for some reason, you don't receive calls through the phone, although I don't know why that would happen. I have not had that occur.
Got this as a offer for opened / returned item. Was discounted way less from the new cost phone. Was expecting the worse but This phone was in perfect condition, it had been used briefly because there were messages still on machine. I rarely use my home phone any more so this was perfect to replace my aged phone that the battery no longer wanted to stay charged. I'll have to rethink my stance on purchasing returned or refurbished items. This was a positive purchase for price and product. Thanks Amazon
We love this phone & it does the job. I just needed a new home phone for the very few calls I get at home. We use our cell phones for most everything but some business's we give them the home phone. Every once in a while some business will call us on our home phone & we need to be able to hear & speak with them. My old phone was so old that the line crackled & I could hear a thing. This is a great replacement & love the call block feature for them spam & telemarketer calls.
The first box of phones I received was totally damaged and parts were was missing. Amazon replaced it with no problem. The next phones I received are okay, but there's a lot of static. I cannot say for sure the static is coming from the phone, maybe it's the phone line itself. I actually have better sound on my cell phone. So, because of the static problem with the Panasonic landline phones, I have my number transferred to my cell phone and answer the calls on my cell.
This phone is complete garbage and customer service is not any better. I have had the phone for less than 3 months and the ear piece on one handset has already broken. When I contacted them about getting a replacement handset, after being on chat for more than a half an hour, I was told he had to send it on to their investigation department and I would receive an email from them. I received an email telling me that in order to get a replacement handset that I need to follow specific instructions on how to package the handset up and mail it to them at my expense. I feel that it is unreasonable for them to expect the customer to pay shipping fees on their faulty product when the product didn't even last 3 months. Plus from the beginning the phone would randomly make loud screeches or sound like a robot was speaking to the person on the other line. I am extremely disappointed and would never recommend this or any other Panasonic product to anyone.
Two Problems (how big or small will vary on what you're looking for):
1. The answering machine at full volume is still one of the quietest we've ever heard. Sometimes, if we are in the very next room, we can't quite hear who's calling when we're screening. It never even occurred to me that this kind of problem could exist. Every answering machine I've ever owned had been nice and loud.
2. You don't just "press the Call Block button" to have that feature work. You then have to press a different button at the top to confirm it... and then press it again to save it. This is perfectly reasonable, by the way - you don't want to accidentally block some number by mistake, or due to an itchy trigger finger :) - but it was juuist complicated enough that my Dad couldn't quite get it when I explained to him a few times. Just FYI.
We kept the phone; neither of these were annoying enough. And the screen is, indeed, nice and big. But it was still a disappointment. Would absolutely not buy these again.
