They fit my criteria for speed, latency and price, as well as being from a brand that has been around a while. There were very good reviews from Toms Hardware and OCDrift. Originally I was planning on solid black, however these had better latency and were samsung B-die chipset for a better price. I did not buy them for the LED, that was just kind of a bonus and doesn't look bad in my Corsair C-70 case.
If you are big on aesthetics, there are a couple things you should know, first the LED color is more of a neutral white, so if you have things that have the cool white LED (my video card and water cooler do) it will stand out. The other issue is that the light bar is not solid white, you can see shaded areas in between the LEDs These things don't bug me since I bought if for performance not aesthetics but its worth mentioning for others who would be bothered by that.
