I think it is very good for the purpose of unnerving an attacker momentarily and it is legal to carry it around (unlike pepper spray etc). The 5 pack is good as you can distribute it to everyone and also keep one as a panic alarm in the house etc.
Suggestions for improvement are:
1. Make the LED light button a little sunken in (recessed) so that it is less prone to being accidentally switched on inside the pocket or on a key chain etc.
2. The last link in the chain at the alarm end is made of soft metal wire and is very fragile. The wire opens up and the alarm detaches from the chain fairly easily.
3. The post around which the last link attaches to the alarm is very thin and fragile. This post must be made much thicker (diameter) and robust.
For the Last Link, I had to improvise: Using 22 SWG stiff Lock Wire, I looped it half way around the Piezo Buzzer on both sides and bent each wire around (folded the wire) to secure it in the unused space. A loop extending out of the alarm unit from this wire provided a much more robust last link to the chain from the alarm.
