The bulbs are fairly good quality and the colour temperature is very pleasant. However, what really breaks it for me is the loud obnoxious buzzing coming from them. It is in no way subtle, even when used in ceiling lights, and especially in bedside lamps. I do not recommend these at all.
Tried in a new dimmer lamp, the bulb is advertised as dimmable, and it didn't dim. On max brightness setting, the bulb flickered. There was a constant buzz, and after about a minute of trial and error quite a strong burning smell was coming from the bulb.
A regular (non LED) bulb works fine, so not the lamp.
Light output was good, and it made no noise. But longevity (on a sample of one) has been very poor: it lasted only 5 months in a standard lamp that is typically used for a few hours most evenings. So perhaps 600 hours use in total? Not the advertised a15,000 hours and well short of even a typical old fashioned incandescent lamp. Come on Philips - this is neither cost effective nor environmentally acceptable.
I have used only one of the lightbulbs from the pack I bought - and it's already gone. It lasted about 8 weeks and then went out. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTING, especially as it's high up and I have to stand on the very top of the ladder and fiddle with the shade in order to change it. At nearly 72, this isn't something I want to be doing every two months.
Purchased for a bedroom lamp, wanting a warm white and not too bright. These bulbs are perfect! Hoping that they will last at least several months Having a 2-pack is convenient however and a fantastic price at time of purchase. Reassuring to have the Philip's brand. Only negative is the perhaps excessive use of plastic packaging. Hopefully on the way out! Recommended purchase.
they have a nice bright light and weren't too yellow...was very impressed till I noticed that one of the bulbs whistles. no its not the usual feint whistle that most electronics makes, I'm pushing 50 and can hear it across the room. the whistling bulb also rattles when you shake it, the other 2 don't so I guess the rattle and whistle are connected.
obviously (?) I have to send all 3 back even though only 1 is faulty. have ordered 2 x 2packs instead so that I wont be without any bulbs if there is a faulty one next time.
I do like the product, I just want ones that work properly.
Wanted a low wattage bulb, but with good light output for my desk lamps. These are perfect. Philips always come through with their bulbs. They tend to be excellent quality, consistent light colour - a nice warm white - and very low powered, while still giving out a lot of lumens.
I bought these lightbulbs to put in both of my bathrooms. I was deliberating on which colour temperature to go with, from cool white to warm white, but eventually settled on these. I think these are a great fit - they are bright enough and the colour temperature works in the setting they are in.
Very happy with my purchase. I balked a bit at the price but having received them and put them into use I am more than happy. I bought them to replace the bulbs in my bedroom and the bathroom. I'm glad to see the back of that awful bright, strange yellowy light emitted from the bulb that was in my bedroom. This feel much more natural and is not overpowering. Absolutely perfect for my needs. Would recommend :)
Regular bayonet bulbs for my table lamps seem to last minutes.... they blow in weeks these days, I assume manufacturing quality has gone down massively recently. These are the answer - I am gradually replacing my old fashioned filament bulbs with these and they last forever. So they're worth the few extra points. 150,000 hours is over 15 years - if they last half that I will be very impressed!
