Just in case you are not aware to avoid a miss buy, These are a bright clinical day light white, which I was expecting, so are not suitable in places where you want a bit of atmosphere. Because if their intensity it’s best to have a diffuser around them so they are not directly in line of sight. Neat size, instant on, so great for the right applications. Cannot comment on life yet, except all arrived promptly and working.
All 12 buzzed in simple in/off ordinary lamp and ceiling lamp (as these are NOT dimmable, as stated.) Some really loudly but even the quite ones still buzzed. I also bought the much-more expensive (like 3.5x the price) Philips Softglow dimmables which are totally silent. I would not have expected such rubbish from Philips but these are on their way back now. Shame.
Made a buzzing noise in all light fittings I tried them in. Also, they got quite hot by the base, which is not what you expect from a low energy bulb. Overall I’m shocked at the poor quality of this Philips product so I won’t buy their brand again. Returned for a refund.
Have used two of these bulbs and first one failed within 6 months despite the fact that the description suggests the bulbs can last up to 25 years. Contacted seller and they refused to swap the bulb as it was outside of the warranty despite the fact that the item was evidently defective.
As others have said these do have an annoying buzz when on. I did order from Amazon wear house so these were probably returned for this reason. Maybe an unfortunate batch so my advice would be to buy new. I may return these for a replacement.
I have bought previously the 13W version of this product which spread too much light , really like a daylight in your living room/ bedroom. In my opinion 13W version is compatible for outter spaces mostly and big spaces. In a living room/bedroom it is way too much bright for me. My whole house was installed with incandescent light bulb, 60W. The 8W LED of phillips is just the fit for me. Ordered 12PCS, and will do again just soon enough to have some stocks in my house. It costs a 3 pounds per bulb incl. shipment which in local market starts with 6 pounds for bulb.
I have bought many “off brand” bulbs without any issues, disappointed to find I paid a higher price for the Philips product and had one not working at all. Maybe an isolated occurrence, and not worth going through a return process for £3 for one bulb, just annoying!
There are so many variations to choose from nowadays it's easy to pick the wrong item when you're relying on an image which is exactly what happened: they were too tall for our table lamps. Should've noted measurements!
Can't offer a comment on durability or efficiency but chose them being Philips.
