Not Recommended for Very Short Hair!!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 October 2018Verified Purchase
Left very patchy results! Photo shows hair clipped at 2.7mm. The long base of the guard prevents the blades from being able to cut the hair evenly against a less than perfectly smooth head. These were replacement clippers for my old clippers which gave up the ghost after a decade of use - they were the type that had different plastic guards for different lengths, gave a MUCH better result than these. I do not recommend if you want to cut hair very short.

Great for cuttinmg your own hair at home.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 October 2018Verified Purchase
I've had these clippers for a while now, after a combination of rising barber bills and receding hairline made me question whether there was a better option. I was a little nervous about cutting my own hair in case I ended up making a terrible mistake and having to wear a hat for a few weeks, but it's hard to go wrong with these clippers. The guards all make sure that the length is exactly as you've dialled in and the charge lasts for a long time. I clip my hair once a week and charge it probably once every month or six weeks. There's plenty of length settings to choose from to suit whatever cut you'd like and the lock ensures that while the clippers are active you can't accidentally change the preset. They come with a little brush to dust them off afterwards which keeps them looking clean. The only downside is they're not great at catching all the wispy type hairs at the back of your neck if you've got a guard on. They do work for those if you take the guard off but when clipping your own hair that can be a risky move if you aren't careful.

The ultimate hair clipper

Philips HC9450
This is definitely by far the ultimate hair clipper in the market.
I have been trying to purchase this product for a while now. The price for it went up to £190 during spring due to lock down.
Finally, it was offered for ONLY £66 by Amazon and I just grabbed it.
There isn’t much to say about this clipper, it is a great product for its price.
I red all the reviews and my only hesitation was some people complaining about this clipper not to cut evenly and leaving patches.
I tried on my son and I was impressed with the result.
First of all it is a light weight clipper and it is so comfortable to use it.
I thought cordless clipper should be little weak but I was wrong. Very strong. There is no more hustling as my son has thick hair.
I don’t have to change combs as often. One comb is enough for my son’s hair cut style. Digital swipe action and motorized combs.
One of the very few clippers in the market that length setting goes up to 42mm. It remembers my preferred settings. So there is no need to readjust each time. The runtime is great; 1.5 hours of runtime for only 60 minutes of charging. Easy maintenance, requires no oiling or sharpening the blades.
Awarded Best Clippers Set 2019.
So as a result, this clipper for this price is a steal. Two thumbs up.

Long settings possible, but hair slips past clippers
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 September 2018Verified Purchase
These should be really good clippers, given the price and claims made for their precision and sharpness, but we found them frustrating to use. It's actually slower to change length compared to our old change-the-comb clippers, as you need to turn them off before they'll let you change the length. But most frustratingly, the hair tends to slip past the cutter as on some lengths the combs don't extend all the way to the clipper head itself, and the hair that's cut off tends to jam the comb as there's two directions to go in. That means the 0.1mm precision claimed is wildly optimistic.
I'm returning it after three attempts using them, and will switch back to a traditional style clipper.

overall comparable with 5450, read below re differences.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 January 2019Verified Purchase
The Philips 9000 clipper is in some ways better and in some ways worse than the 5450 clipper. Both have great titanium blades. Both cut really well. The older (5450) has in my opinion better grip and gives you the option to select standard/turbo mode manually. The newer (9000) does not allow manual turbo mode but it switches on the turbo mode when cutting more thick hair. This probably helps optimise battery life (yet I personally am used to have the turbo mode on all the time). The new (9000) clipper has electronic (instead of manual) cutting length adjustment which in my opinion is unnecessary complication (the manual setting on 5450 is good enough).
In terms of cutting quality both are equal. Please note that Philips also sells similar models (with slightly different model numbers) with steel blades, I tried one and it was horrible (bulling hair etc). So make sure you buy a model with titanium blades.
