Overpriced nightmare

What an absolute nightmare. The clips provided cannot support the weight of this light strip. It just falls out.

It is a absolute magnet for dirt and hair you would need to mop your outdoors to avoid it getting filthy while preparing to mount or dealing with it falling continually. Mine is now completely covered in a layer of dirt and hair just by being outdoors.

And really it is just an LED strip in a rubber sleeve. Even on special that is ridiculous. I feel so stupid for buying this. Had an idea of using it and just completely useless clips won’t hold it between rafters and it save between as so heavy. Just terrible.

Nothing is cheap with Hue lights, but I bought this on special when it came down to $200. Still expensive but you get what you pay for and this is very solidly built. Comes with little clip in system that you can install wherever you want to place light strip. Colours are strong and brightness is great for an outdoor strip. My only suggestion would be if there was a bracket for the cable from the transformer itself to help hide it better.

I've used this light not only in the garden but also in a bathroom renovation. Run it around the top corner of the shower recess - looks fantastic and because it IP67 it's legal to use it. You will need to work with your electrician to sort out where to run the power cable and your plasterer on how to incorporate it but outcome is well worth it. Considering the cost of alternatives that use very expensive aluminium extrusion, this is a very economical solution.
