I bought this player in October last year, so I thought I would share some comments both positive and less so about my experience with this device.
The item is plasticky - more so than I would have expected for the price paid. You need fairly efficient headphones as the maximum volume can sometimes be reached on some quieter pieces of music. I use Yamaha HPH-MT7's with a sensitivity of 99 dB/mW. I do not use the balanced output so I cannot comment about it. The item comes with Tunein, Deezer and Tidal preloaded, and I had no difficulty connecting to WiFi. The operation of the player is ok, not the slickest but works well for me. Battery life is ok - I get about 10-12 hours. I use both micro sd slots with Sandisk 64gb cards without any issues, and they are loaded with Flac files and a few mp3's with no issues.
The sound quality is really good, and this device will bring out subtleties within the music which I had not experienced before. I immediately noticed differences between cymbals, and I have found it easier to follow instruments through complex pieces of music. This player will show up badly recorded pieces of music to the detriment of the listening experience.
As a comparison if used with cheap headphones not a great leap in quality over the Sony NW-A45 which I also own, but when used with decent headphones there is a big difference. I like this player.
