I was amazed at the alluring, unique names of the recipes and ingredients; this book should be sequelled with opening a restaurant and tasting from the menu since it is so vividly described and decorated! The entire section dedicated to healthy, mouth-watering fruity and vegetable Smoothies is worth the price of the book itself. I selected my own holiday party gathering menu to entertain friends and family and introduce them to a higher quality plant-based, nourishing smorgasbord. The recipes include the author’s own experiences and time savers making the dish, meal suggestions and tips, serving sizes, and a easy list of measured ingredients. My breakfast selection was German Chocolate Pancakes, fit for a king. For lunch I chose the Whole Wheat Pasta with Broccoli Pesto and the zesty Meatless Irish Stew from the World Class Soups and Stews chapter. For our main dinner course, I am cooking the savory Pot Roast made with tender Portobello Mushrooms and Carrot Brown Rice Casserole with Spinach. I can’t wait for the dessert featuring Banana Creamy Pie with Banana Mango Ice Cream. I am making gifts in tins of Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Popcorn complete with red bows and gift cards! I had a wonderful time revisiting my food senses of taste, smells, color and sounds as I read through this book and Susan’s engaging text kept me flipping through the pages to learn and visualize more of the plant-based diet and vibrant, energizing lifestyle to come for our family in the new year!
